There are four people in particular who have demonstrated leadership in all its forms, and have inspired me to want to walk in their footsteps. My parents are two of my biggest influencers, they taught me from birth to the individual I am today. My mother was a natural leader, she was the one in control most of the time, She was extremely hard working, strong-willed, and driven. My mother wasn't the brightest student in school, she barely got accepted to the local university in her city, she had the lowest grades of her year. She realized that she did not understand the course materials and was failing her courses, her professor told her to resign and not embarrass her family. I have had piano teachers in the past whom were unpleasant and rude, which made me dread going to class every week. My parents realized I was unhappy with my previous piano teacher and switched to Joy in hopes of making my experiences more enjoyable. Joy was a elementary teacher, so she was extremely empathetic towards kids like me. She found ways to let me actually enjoy the beauty of music, I got to pick the songs I liked to listen to and played according to my likes and dislikes. She was creative in the different activities we did each listen, and made me enjoy and appreciate piano. Her positive attitude made me feel less stressed out and more relaxed, this allowed me to be more confident and let my personality shine. I really appreciated my piano

The Arts have called my name for as long as I can remember. As a child, I dabbled in any intensively creative and performative thing that was in the immediate vicinity. I would go around telling all my peers that when I grew up, I was going to have any one of a number of extravagant careers: I would promise to become a famous actress on Monday, declare myself a world-class musician on Wednesday and swear to grow to be a best-selling novelist by Friday. The Arts, and all they encompassed, were my first love. It only seemed natural to me, like eating or blinking, that my life should be dedicated to the very thing that made me the happiest. I finally took my ambitions to heart my first year of high school, where I eagerly sought out beginning…

My parents have helped me with almost everything I have completed in life. They’ve always said “I want you to have everything we didn’t”. With that being said it gives me strength to push myself to make them and myself happy. Although both of my parents did graduate high school, neither one went to college, my mom had to work to help out her parents be financially stable because they were illegal. My dad too began to work right out of high school and wanted to join the navy but, due to second and third degree burns he was not capable of joining. I personally am very proud of my parents because neither one of them was wealthy growing up. What they have become today is amazing, and shows that anything is possible. And thanks to them I have two amazing twin sisters Monique and Angelique.…

An unknown inspirationist once said, “Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don’t look at it and wish you had painted something different.” I love to live my life as such and when I stare at this blank white mask I imagine all the endless possibilities, just as in life.…

It all started in 207, a bright ,warm , sunny summer day. I was having fun , chasing friends & while I was running , I noticed something. It was money , and it had fallen out the pocket of my friend. I was fascinated by the amount of money I found. It was $360. I imagined all the things I could buy with this money. It was only after everyone stopped running when kayla noticed her money was missing. She stopped and looked everywhere and asked if anyone has seen it. I lied and said no. Trying to be the person everyone wants you to be is the hardest part of being a teenager. If I were to tell my younger siblings and friends one piece of advice upon entering high school to overcome this difficulty, I would advise them to be themselves. Although it is a cliche and it’s often overlooked, hearing this was crucial for me. High school is the time when most students discover their place in the world and being someone who they’re not makes that journey exponentially harder. High school has become more than just academics. People have the ability to be focused on sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities, but their main focus seems to be their social status. I was a people-pleaser. I acted the way people wanted me to act…

Have you ever listened to music? If you have, you know what it’s like to feel the drum beat, to identify the instruments, and to pick a favorite genre. My life is like music, it’s sometimes slow and smooth, and sometimes it’s loud and sloppy. Music on a page looks like lines and scribbles. It looks like instruments. It feels like wood, plastic, or metal. It sounds like rock, pop, hip hop, rap, country, techno, and even classical. It’s the sound of a squeak of an instrument, the beat of a drum, or the crash of a cymbal.…

One more reason to why i consider my mom to be the most significant influence in my life is because she allows me to do certain things that i want to do but at the same time she restricts me from going over board. It is easy to say that a parent has had the most influence on your life, they taught you how to walk, talk, drink and among many other things hopefully right from wrong. A good parent is there for you most of your life, quick to lend a hand or offer advice (unless it’s your mother-in-law) when needed, but the trait that impacted my life the most was the integrity my father exhibited with me and the people lucky enough to have met him.…

My household is currently solely led by my mother; a strong, wise, generous, principled, and humble woman who influenced me to become the man I am today and for that I could not be more thankful. I realized that she wanted to be both a mother and father figure for me. She focused on more than just my grades in school and went to an extreme to show me that the immature teenage life I was living would never allow me to achieve my future goals. She showed me that I should always put my best foot forward despite all the problems and obstacles I faced. As I matured I slowly began making better decisions, stepping toward the right path and ultimately making the decision to change my life for the better.…
