Color Guard Welcome letter
Dear Parents/ Guardians, We are excited to welcome all dancers and parents to the Long Beach Poly 2014-2015 Color Guard season. Our goal this season is to provide an opportunity for students to participate in representing their school. The Color Guard is a group that teaches teamwork and performance skills, builds confidence and self-esteem. You will gain experiences in performing in front of many people and lifelong friendships.
During this season, The Color Guard will perform with the marching band at all home football games; pre-game, halftime shows, all field competitions, and parades and will sometimes perform by themselves at a pep rally, as mentioned in the previous marching band packet. The members of the Color Guard are required to register for marching band in their class schedules. Their rehearsal responsibilities include Color Guard camp, which meets the week prior to band camp; band camp, which meets August 18th- August 29th; early morning rehearsal and period 1 during the school day for the 1st semester. There may also be additional sectional practices called which the members are expected to attend. (The additional practice are called depending on the progress of the group). These performances are all required as part of their grade. In addition to these performances, Color Guard members will be graded on rehearsal attendance and periodic performance exams.

Individuals will be responsible for a few financial obligations to the program of approximately $180 as reasonably estimated below. Please note that we do offer several fundraisers each year, some of which members can
