Comfort Zone Film Analysis

I believe life is about taking risks and moving to Long Beach to follow my dreams is one of the biggest risks I had to. I came to CSULB knowing little to nothing about film and I wrote and directed a short film called Comfort Zone, which is one of my biggest accomplishments that has affected me as an artist and student.
The biggest challenge I had to overcome in order to complete Comfort Zone was my fear of telling a story that was personal. I felt exposed and was terrified people would not like or connect to the film. On top of that I did not feel truly confident about directing my short film because I have never done anything like this before. However, I built the courage to send the script to a few close friends who have filmmaking experience and asked for advice. One friend helped me every step of the way and gave me the confidence I needed to complete this project. He sent me constructive criticism for each draft of my script, he answered any questions I had and lastly, he gave me tips for a first time director. His encouragement made my fears about directing smaller. I
All these resources are elements necessary for me to be successful at CSULB, but not having enough money for all these things has made my college experience difficult. My father is the only one in my family of six that works. He barely makes enough to maintain my family with the daily necessities. I am the second person going to college from my family and I am funding my education on my own just as my older brother did. I have applied to every available scholarship and any money awarded to me will be a great help. I will benefit from this scholarship because it will help me secure the resources I need in order to be successful in my classes and projects.
