Compare And Contrast Christianity And Neopaganism
I choose the write about Christianity and Neopaganism because Christianity is the religion that I most know about and the religion that most people follow and believe in my country (Brazil); and Neopaganism is the religion that I find the most “different” and interesting to write about. Christianity is one of the most famous religions in the whole world. Christianity is based on teaching of Jesus Christ. According to the Christian, Jesus Christ was sent by God and after die and revives, he “allowed” all who believe in Jesus Christ to enter heaven. Christians beliefs are based on the Bible. In general, Christians use the Bible as a “guide” in order to present and “explain” their beliefs. Some of the Christian’s practices are the prayer, been baptized and participate in communion. …show more content…
Prayer is the moment to apologize, ask and simply contact God. Baptism and communion are marks/characteristics of the Christian religion. When you get baptized, it means that you have opened your heart and have accepted God into your life. Another thing that Christian believes is the sins. Christian describes sin as being an act that is against the principles of God. Christian describes sin as being something that people do that God does not believe it is a right thing to be done. But on the other hand, God recognize that humans are not perfect, and that sometime in our life we will do something wrong, so when you do something wrong, you should go to Church and confess your sin to the priest (which is an ordained minister of the Catholic Church having the authority to perform certain rites and sacraments) in order to be forgiven by God. “Christianity is sometimes associated with complex doctrines but its desire to speak if the nature of God and God’s relationship to humanity is not fundamentally abstract but closely connected to maintaining a balanced spiritual vision and

Christianity has many denominations, for example Mormons, Anglicans, Presbyterian. Christians believe that Jesus lived for humanity, died for humanity, and resurrected for humanity. Christ is percepted in many different ways; he is depicted as the Son of God who died for humans on the cross. Over one third of the world is Christians, but nearly 75% of the world celebrates traditions which only Christians believe in. An example of this would be Easter. Easter is when Jesus died for humans on the cross, but nowadays non-believers celebrate it and is treated as a public holiday. This shows how important Christianity is to humans, and also to the world. In the Bible, Jesus was first mentioned in the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. He was depicted as the son of God. ‘14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. ’Jesus’s name was not mentioned. Isaiah’s prophecy was then fulfilled in the gospel of Luke. ‘Was born of a virgin named Mary’ (Luke 1:26-31). Also Jesus had performed many great miracles. Jesus performed the changing of the water to win at the wedding at Cana. ‘7 Jesus said to the servants “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.8 then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” This is the gospel of John 2:7-8. Christians believe Jesus was fully divine and human. Which was why when Jesus was nailed to the cross, the pain he felt was the pain humans would have felt as well.     The term Baptism is generally defined as “a rite of washing with water as a sign of religious purification and consecration.” Throughout Christianity, Baptism is widely practiced due to its fundamentality to the individual as well as adherents. The purpose of Baptism is to indicate the unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as well as the death and resurrection of the Lord. However, the significance of Baptism may be viewed in different perspectives depending on the Christian denomination. Certain variants of the Christian faith such as Roman Catholicism, Protestantism and Orthodoxy may possess some variations in terms of the practice of Baptism nevertheless share two principal components which are the profession of faith and water.     What It Means to Be a Christian

    What being a Christian means to me is first and foremost believing Jesus is the Son of God, and He died to save people from their sins. Being a Christian means a person believes Jesus is the only way one may be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal life. What makes someone a Christian is his or her faith, not deeds. If someone is a Christian, he or she will continually be conformed to the likeness of God’s one and only Son, who was perfect. This does not mean Christians will ever be perfect on earth, but we will mature as Christians more and more over time as the Holy Spirit convicts us and as we continue to live for God’s purpose. Being a Christian also means we surrender to God’s will, and we stop living for ourselves in our sinful nature and instead live to glorify God. Once a person has accepted Jesus into their heart as Lord and Savior, that person is dead to sin, and forever saved. If a person is never convicted to change their sinful behaviors and attitudes, I would question whether or not that person is a Christian. As Christians, we should most certainly obey God’s instruction to share the gospel with everyone, as Jesus instructed in the Great Commission. I do not believe doing good deeds makes one a Christian, but doing good deeds and putting others first is certainly a result of being a Christian. I also do not believe that anyone who is saved will not be convicted by the Holy Spirit to live for God. After all, we were made to glorify Him, the One who made us. The most important thing we as Christians are to show towards others is love. Love is what binds all other fruits of the Spirit together. Even if we have faith that can move mountains, if we have not love, we are nothing. How much could we really serve, obey, and do God’s will if we do not love Him, others, and ourselves?
