Costa Rica Monologue
I waited a few moments, before shoving my face into the pillow and letting out a painful shriek. Hot tears fell from my eyes and I could only hear one person screaming: me. I can’t believe it. I was gone without my mom. I curled up into a ball of sadness, never coming…

In the summer of 2015, my sister and I took out first trip out of the country. Only the two of us went because my parents wanted us to go to Costa Rica to meet our family and see how life is there. However when I arrived, I encountered an environment far different from the one I had been accustomed to. In the United States we are very technology driven. I won’t lie, I am very dependant on technology…

Last summer, all of the kids that were invited went to Costa Rica where we would have a great time experiencing new culture and great whitewater. The First few days were great and those were some of the most powerful, best rivers I have ever kayaked.…
