What freedom is to me is the ability to be yourself without having to be living your life controlled. How freedom is an amazing thing, you can be yourself. You certainly can have any personal beliefs, be in any religion, and there’s much more things you can do. The 4th of July was when we gain our independence from Great Britain. A very famous quote my father tells me is,”May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what was right.” (Peter Marshall) This quotes always gets to me, it just reminds me to never take advantage of the freedom I have.

Even though we have freedom most people don’t appreciate it. They can’t understand that there’s a lot of people who would literally do anything just to have what we have, which is freedom. A personal story which I’ve heard a million times from my grandparents is that they crossed the border to get to here, so that their children could have a better education and life were they couldn’t have in Mexico. My grandparents both worked their best to give my dad and his siblings everything they needed, yes they struggled, but at the end it became a beautiful outcome. My grandparents got their citizenships, they now have eight beautiful grandchildren.
