The role of a Head or Deputy Head Girl is clearly one of great importance as they play an outward role in the school’s daily occurrence. However, to me, a Head Girl is not someone of greater importance than the rest of the Sixth Form, but someone with the ability to work effectively in a large team, giving equal importance to every individual within the team. The role of the Head girl requires the ability to motivate those around you, whilst at the same time, being motivated by those around to create a stress- free, comfortable and memorable environment for what will be an extremely stressful final year.
I feel that the qualities that I gained from being a House captain, which involved listening and taking into account the opinions and advise of others are essential for any leadership position and will therefore benefit me greatly in this role, as it ensures co-operation and involvement from all members of the team. Additionally, I believe that my innovative nature will bring a new dynamic to the role, allowing me to approach tasks with originality, effectiveness and determination, but most importantly with enthusiasm.
As a Head girl, I would be given the opportunity to encourage and build on the qualities that our school already possesses, whilst making and putting into action suggestions that will add greater strength to the school and its
