Descriptive Writing About A Bleacher
The crowd started to clap. I started to walk up the bleachers then it all happened. Fast, sharp, and quick it was. Then I felt it in my cheeks and I started to blush. Next I felt it in my stomach. Those butterflies had come. Everyone trying to look, trying to look for the boy who fell behind the bleachers, the boy who knocked down the backdrop.
It all started at Providence Elementary’s Winter Concert. It took place at Kempsville Middle, home of the Chiefs. The classes were getting ready for our songs. Getting in costume, and mingling with friends. The boys were dressed in dreidel costumes which were blue boxes with the usual dreidel letters on it. They were around our chest and tummy with holes for our arms, heads, and legs to stick out. The

We got through the first few songs smoothly. In the middle of our concert after a song, where the boys were on the stage with the girls Mrs. Johns, my music teacher rushed us boys up the bleachers. The moment I am just about to describe is a bit of a blur to me. I remember walking up the bleachers and stepping on the 3rd and last bleacher then falling right through an opening in it. These bleachers had 3 rows, like stairs but wide. On the 3rd bleacher there is a bar supporting it, so you can lean on it. This bar was in a shape of a rectangular so it is possible someone could go through it. So I either walked up and fell head first or most likely, went up, turned around, went backwards to lean on the bar then fell through the opening. I remember when I fell through, my back was facing towards the ground in lying position. Believe it or not when I hit the ground it didn’t hurt. This was because of my dreidel box which saved me and took all of the impact. That wasn’t even the worst part, when I fell I knocked down the whole background. The background was a solid rectangle that had paper on it. For some reason it had a farm on it. So when I fell, the vibration must have knocked it down because I was right next to it. Mrs.Carolino and 4th grade teacher Mrs.Rhamy helped pick it up and made sure I was okay. When I got up and stood on the stands again everyone was clapping for me. Then, my cheeks started to turn red, and butterflies started …show more content…
At that time I felt super embarrassed but now I have learned to find humor in it. Now, I can laugh at it because it seems so funny that someone could fall through the bleachers and knock down the whole background. In life things embarrassing like this are going to happen to you. You just have to find humor in

On December 18, 2015 I had heard once that day that it was snowing. That crisp, pure snow was falling right outside the theater where 50 dancers, including myself, were rushing to get ready. I didn’t get to see it that day, but I wish I had. I was with two of the best friends you could ever ask for. Each of us was dressed in our own version of an 1800's party dress, like we always are when we preform Tchaikovsky's Classic Nutcracker. Abby's having an odd flower design over deep burgundy, Jadyn's had a full blue dress with an abnormal piece of cloth working as a chest plate, and mine could be used as a purple and gold checker board based on the pattern. Abby, Jadyn, and I were setting up the last of our props when we realized that a doll was missing.…

It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…

One of my friends asked me if I was okay and i said "yeah I am fine". But then he asked me if I was okay after the hit? I said "yeah it hurt a little bit I'm okay now". Not thinking to much about the hit I started walking down the sideline to some of my other buddy's and then all of a sudden I felt super light headed so I sat down on the ground and soon enough another trainer came over and said if I was alright which I wasn't. The trainer checked me out for a little bit and asked me multiple questions which I thought I answered correctly but before you know it there was a ambulance and a fire truck sitting in the parking lot. We were playing Montgomry Bell Academy, MBA we called them. The first quarter wasn’t anything to speak about. By the beginning of the second quarter, the score was one nothing and we weren’t the ones winning. Anyone who has ever played lacrosse knows that even a one-point lead is a lot in this sport. It was the beginning of the second quarter and I was starting with a face-off. I crouched down in front of the other player, sweat dripping off his maroon jersey, our sticks were on the ground in front of us, with the ball between us, beckoning me to scrape it away. I was nervous because the other guy was bigger than me but I was excited to start playing. The ref yelling SET and blowing his whistle brought me out of my head and into the game. I stood straight up and pushed the other guy out of the way and tried to kick the ball away from him but he knocked me down. I…

I wanted to be like all my other friends and play the clarinet, but instead I was chosen to play the flute. I did not understand at first why Mr. Peirce wanted me to play the flute, I thought it was complicated and would be difficult to function. We started by fingering and playing one note at a time repeatedly until each note was well played. Next, we started playing notes together to make sure we knew how to go from one to the other smoothly. Lastly, we learned scales, also known as playing the letters of the staff up then down. Soon after having these lessons of learning how to finger the notes and how to correctly blow in my mouth piece, I realized it was much easier then it looked. After a year, I was moved into the high school band. There were a small number of flutes, so we had to play very loud. We started by learning small songs. By playing a new song every day, I started to memorize the keys which made playing much easier. As the months passed Mr. Peirce placed a music piece in front of us known as “Bella’s Lullaby”. I was then ecstatic! Bella’s Lullaby was the piece played in one of my favorite movies, Twilight. It took us weeks to learn and another to perfect. After learning the piece I finally knew what it felt like to hear music speak. The piece was full of emotion including a lot of crescendo and decrescendo. Meanwhile, after finishing the song, Mr. Peirce thought that it should be played amongst an audience. We were to invite all our family and friends to what we called a concert. After playing the piece, along with other small pieces that we learned, we were given a round of applause. That night, Mr. Peirce awarded me with the “Most Improved…

Baseball has been part of my life since I was five years old. From ages eight through sixteen, I was a national level player who traveled to wide range of states to playcompetitively in tournaments. To this point, when I look at Major League baseball rosters, it isn’t out of the ordinary for me to be able to read names of players I have competed against. Needless to say, I knew baseball and was good at it. Maybe not good enough to play in the Major League, but I was good enough to play competitively against some of the League’s newest members.…

I was playing baseball in the spring of my junior year at Athens High School. It was a big game for the team. If we won, we still could make the playoffs, but if we lost, our playoffs hopes crushed. I was in the starting lineup playing first base and batting sixth. It was the third inning and it was still a tied game at zero. Muscle Shoals had a runner on second base with one out. The Muscle Shoals batter hit the ball to third base; our third baseman fielded the ball and threw the ball towards me at first. The ball was thrown off line up into the baseline. I stretch trying to keep my foot on the bag and make the catch. As soon as I caught the ball the hitter collided with me. The collision sent the ball and my glove soaring into right field.…
