AUSTRALIAN FIRST
Dimmi restaurant reservations now made easier for Australians on Google In an Australian first, Australians can now make restaurant reservations in Google Search and Google Maps for Mobile in real-time with online restaurant reservations platform Dimmi.com.au. Starting this week, access to real-time restaurant bookings via Dimmi has been integrated into the Google desktop and mobile search platforms giving Australian diners access to live bookings whether at home, at work or on the move for any of the 2,500 restaurants in Dimmi’s index. The integration is also incorporated into Google Maps for Mobile, the default mapping app for Android mobile handsets and rapidly becoming the most popular mapping app for Apple iPhones. Now when users pull up maps on their phones, they can pinpoint nearby restaurants, pull up photos, reviews and restaurant details, and make a booking immediately via Dimmi. Google have only integrated three such restaurant services globally, leading with OpenTable in the US and followed quickly by Dimmi in Australia and TopTable in the UK. Dimmi founder and CEO, Stevan Premutico, is excited about the launch as it will allow more Australians to find and book a restaurant while also helping the restaurant industry fill more tables. “When we started Dimmi it was our grand plan to make it easier for Australians to search, discover and book restaurants. Today’s launch will make it even easier for diners to search on Google, and select and book local restaurants anywhere, anytime.” said Premutico. Web Mobile Maps

Over 60% of adults have a smart phone that uses applications to make life easier. Our restaurant could invest a small amount of money to get ourselves into the mobile app world. This would allow customers to see our menu, order from it and pay with a credit card, before they even step foot in the restaurant. The application could make them aware of future events that are coming up and to even buy tickets to it, if tickets are available. The costs to develop such an application could be very low to high depending on the functions that we would want to include with it.…
