Do Curfews Keep Teens Out Of Trouble Essay

Teens seem to be getting worse at younger ages every year. Some are starting to pick up weapons at young ages. Police have tried to become more strict on teens who are caught out after certain times. The question is, will curfews keep teens out of trouble? In my opinion, I feel like it will help the situation. Additionally, having a curfew will make teens lives safer. Furthermore, having a curfew will help lower the teen crime rate, help protect teens, and help teach responsibility. First, someone can argue that it will help lower the teen crime rate. It becomes late at night or early morning teens get bored and want to find something to do. When I was a kid for fun we would go find something to do. It’s dark outside and some think they will not get caught if they do steal a bike or go break into homes. In fact crimes happen more at night; this
Giving them a time to be home teaches them to be responsible. Having a set time to be inside teaches them how to be on time; it’s preparing them for a job. In fact I could argue that teens having a good time for them to be inside on weekday; could help teens become responsible to do school work. Think of it like this, if a teen is inside and they have nothing to do maybe teens will get bored enough to study. It sounds like a crazy hypotheses but it might just work. In conclusion, having a curfew for teens will be beneficial to the teen themselves. Teens are not adults and are not fully capable of making the best decisions. Keeping them away from committing crimes keeps their life on track. Young adults are getting charged as adults now, with a charge like that it could mess their life up. If we want to protect our teens from violence, keep them away from what will bring violence. The last and most important is to teach them to be responsible. Some are almost ready to be in college and no one is going to be there to tell them no or to be on time. Those are my three
