Some students don’t know what to do when the teacher assign their homework. They don’t know what to do because when the teachers assign them homework the night before to do, they spent all night doing it. Then the next day at school they are way too tired to process any work and lesson the teachers are teaching. They would just fall asleep and pay less attention. That causes the student to not know what to do and they just write down random answers. Then when they turn it in the teachers mark it wrong and give them a bad grade. Eventually with all these bad grades in their file it will bring their grades down a lot. This would just give more stress to the students and drain their energy. An average person should be getting about seven to eight hours of sleep a night not two or three…

They back talk teachers, skip class, and get up and leave class. Some students don’t care about school and their grades, most of them don’t even do their homework and half the time they fail test/quizes. So they’ll probably be a decrease in grades, and maybe even an increases in absents. On the other hand there’s students who want to learn, get good grades, and they take the time to study for tests/quizes so they don’t fail. But they may be getting home later so they won’t have time to study or do homework, but if they study they’ll be going to bed late so in the morning they may be feeling tired and worn out.…

One of the most important parts of an effective education is the learning environment. The factors of the learning environment have a lot to do with how a student feels and how well they’re able to communicate with their teacher. Are they able to ask questions or is the class simply hurried along because so much needs to be covered and there isn’t nearly enough time to stop for every question? A big factor in creating an adequate learning environment is maintaining small class sizes. Class size has been a continuing problem in LAUSD in recent years due to budget cuts, but should the students suffer because of lack of funds?…

To begin, with more time in class students have much more time in class to ask questions. In class with only having 49 minutes teachers do not have enough time in class to get through everything they need to and still answer students questions. Asking questions is a important part in the learning process and is one of the key ways to learn. Therefore a 6 hour block will improve learning. Also, a 6 hour block will improve students grades. EJMHS students do not have the best grades. In fact this year on the NWEA testing there was almost a 20 point difference in understanding reading, and reading. This is a big issue. Students need more time in class to learn more. They do not have enough time in class to learn as much as they can and sometimes they are quizzed on subjectsthey haven't learned enough of. If students are able to have more time in class students will be able to take more in during class and be able to keep up. It is also hard to keep up at the pace that some of the teachers are going at now. Sometimes students end up just writing down the shorthand of what the teacher says and they don't ask questions on what they are confused on. Students need to be able to ask questions, if teachers are going 100 miles per hour in class the students are more focused on writing down what the…

but not only enhance the system itself but help the students as well. Having more classes offered means there will be less students in one class, which allows students to have fewer distractions. Having less students in a class offers more one on one time with the students and the teacher. Students then have a better chance at getting their questions answered and just asking for help in general. Having that extra time with the teacher allows the teacher to better understand the student's strengths and weaknesses and can then help in the areas in which that particular student may need more help in. As a result students would gradually improve on their academic work and further their success in such class. Creating such a change would enhance much more than the system itself , it would enhance the students and teachers experience at school creating an environment that students will want to learn…

If the classes were shorter it would make it harder for the teacher to teach the students somethings that they need to know and makes the class fall behind in work. When you have longer class periods you can learn more about the subject and you well not fall behind because you could finish the work in class or at home and turn it in the next day. When the classes are longer it will give you time at the end of class to finish some other work from a different class that is do the next class. Since the classes are longer you won’t need a study hall for the eighth class, because you can finish the work at the end of class or during your lunch…
