Ever since my years in high school, I have been very interested in managing my health. It all started with trying to stay in shape for the various sports that I played, which were basketball, soccer and football. As the years went on I was very interested in muscle building and just being in shape and staying fit. I subscribed to muscle magazines and bought other health magazines from the grocery store. As I read these magazines, I became aware of how important better health is. Good health could help me avoid deadly diseases such as diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure among many others. I have been a member of a gym for as long as I can remember. Even before joining gyms, I started off with calisthenics, doing push-ups, crunches and sit-ups. The hardest part of staying in shape from my experiences is being consistent. Sometimes I might slack off for a month or two, eat anything I want and just get too lazy to work out, but I always get back to staying fit. Better health is a lifestyle thing, and to truly gain any benefits, both in the short and long run, one must change his or her lifestyle. As I get older I realize more of the benefits of staying in shape. The kind of work ethic I started a long time ago when it comes to health management are very useful these days, when I have other important obligations like school, family and work. I have taken like a month off from proper nutrition and exercise; this is why I believe this eight week plan would get me back on the right track. I have been a member of a twenty- four hour gym since the year 2008. These types of gyms are becoming the new trend, and they give me a lot of freedom in staying fit and managing my time wisely when it comes to achieving my goals of good health. My eight week plan is to reduce my body fat percentage and build more muscles while reducing my weigh from 215lbs, to around 200lbs.
