Several historians consider Dwight D. Eisenhower the last great US President. He is deemed as stupendous strategist and military leader. During his tenure, he worked for two low-profile terms and in the course of time; he extended Social Security, incorporated southern universities and military services, ministered the US inter-state highway system and founded the long-term US policy on the mid-east, together with other endeavors.

At the top, the 2 boxes are labeled as Urgent and Not Urgent respectively. The top and bottom row respectively are labeled as Important and Not Important. When Used Daily, the Eisenhower Matrix Expedites Time Management
The daily tasks are filled in one or the other box of the matrix. In the order of preference, list them down in the box. Cancel out the unimportant and non -urgent tasks promptly, as you are done with the important/urgent tasks. When there are no important tasks, place the items for future work or depute the items in the not important/ Non Urgent box. A completion date should be assigned to the unimportant/ non-urgent tasks, however; they should never take precedence over important errands.
As for the weekly planning, focus on doing the important/urgent tasks first. Each week is also lined up with the unimportant/ urgent tasks, hence they carry a secondary importance.
Quadrant #1: Urgent and Important

Quadrant #2: Urgent but Not Important
Your task completion is likely to be hindered by the listed items here. Either reschedule or delegate them. Make people to solve their issues, in the least, by training them or turning your back from their issues.
Few of the Important Tasks might include:
• Meditating
• Exercising
• Dating
• Creating saving and budget plans
• Pursuing additional courses
• Journaling
A long lasting sense of satisfaction, success and fulfillment is achieved upon completion of the tasks placed in Quadrant 2. Hence, as stated by Covey, large portion of the time
Quadrant #3: Not Urgent but Important
To achieve your goals, complete the items in Quadrant # 3. Allocate adequate time to do these things accurate or else they will become Urgent.
Quadrant 3 activities may include:
• Instant favor by closed ones (may be the office colleagues during the office working hours)
• Emails by your supervisor, client or by some one of significant value
• Phone calls from a distant yet close one
• One of your known people asking your favor for professional or personal
