Evaluation Essay: The Olive Garden

My favorite restaurant to dine at is the Olive Garden located on Siegen Lane. The Olive Garden restaurant is a well-known corporate chain of restaurants that offers a wide variety of dishes. The Olive Garden is a mid-priced, causal restaurant specializing in home cooked Italian food. Olive Garden is a staple nationwide in Italian cuisine, however like any chain; it does come with a few flaws. I must say that I am very impressed and satisfied with the quality and taste of food. A particular visit last month proved to me that Olive Garden lives up to the expectations of its guests. Olive Garden’s creed is always “Treating you like you’re family”. The casual attire allowed me to feel relaxed like I was at home. It was loud at times but gave me the feeling of being with a large Italian family eating great food and having a good time. When I see an Olive Garden restaurant, it always appears to be a fancy upscale eatery that would in most cases be out of the price range of most Americans families. The interior of the restaurants, like the exterior, is designed to be a clash between modern and traditional Italian style. Uses of vine, wine bottles, and stones are used throughout the establishment to give a true Italian feel. The building looked like an old cobble stone Italian restaurant that would serve the supper class but is open to all. The walls had very decorative décor, and background music seeking of Italian themes that made me feel like I was in an Italian marketplace. The food made me fell joyful kind of like a fat kid that loves cake. Pulling into the oversized parking lot, the first thing I noticed was all the landscaping and how well it was maintained. I found the restaurant, overall very well maintained and clean although the floors were a little on the messy side. And finally the service at the Olive Garden caught my attention. As soon as we walked through the door we heard, “how are you and

For me personally, I love Italian food because of how much Italian’s appreciate the dinner table. What I mean by “appreciating the dinner table” is how Italians take time to cherish the food but also interact with friends and family while you enjoy the authentic meals. Anyone who walks into Buca di Beppo can begin to feel the authenticity of the restaurant because they do a tremendous job escorting customers to their seat and sharing their history that allows you to see why this restaurant has been around for so many years. When you com to the restaurant when its not busy a waiter or a waitress usually escorts customers to their seat by going on a mini tour around the restaurant walking through the kitchen, around the bar and to their seat. I loved the fact that they walk you through the kitchen to show how they use fresh ingredients and how clean and organized their kitchen is. During this tour it really showed the distinct features of an Italian restaurant. Walking through the restaurant with hundreds of framed pictures across the walls of families and celebrities really made the place feel “homey” and “lively”. This certainly reassured me that my food was going to be fresh.…

The Olive Garden is my favorite Italian restaurant for many reasons. As soon as you walk in, you are almost overwhelmed by the hostess's hospitality. You are then warmed by the cozy atmosphere and pretty dangling lights that are streaming from wall to wall. After being seated, you are spoiled with as many servings of bread sticks and salad as you can eat. Their portions are much larger than Carrabba's and even cheaper. My favorite dish is their fettuccini alfredo. Every time that I go to The Olive Garden I get the same thing because I can't seem to make myself get something different in fear that I may not enjoy it as much.…

Women are known to be great fans of shoes. At last count, Philippine Politician Imelda Marcos had over 2,500 pairs of shoes. Although Mrs. Marcos’ love for shoes is extreme, it is a very good example of how women love their shoes. Since most women have about one percent of the money Mrs. Marcos’ has, they must deal with enjoying their measly fifteen or twenty pair of shoes. One desire a woman of Imelda’s wealth and most other women share is quality. Some shoes are bought at big name stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s or Shoe Warehouse but some women have found that the Payless Shoe Store shoes have lasted just as the long. Eastman makes the point know in her essay that an honest and true feminist no matter where she stands in the movement she will see to the woman’s fight with strength and courage and how it matters in the future and as well as its difference in its approach for the workers fight for industrial freedom. Eastman state “In fighting for the right to vote most women have tried to be either non-committal or thoroughly respectable on every other subject. Olive Garden and Johnny Carino’s are two Italian restaurants in the same category; which one is better? The convenience of having lunch or dinner at one of these restaurants that are located at the same city, and same traveling distance. When my family goes to dinner we usually always pick Olive Garden, but this Sunday we decided to give Johnny Carino’s a try. Olive garden has been around since 1982 and since then they have been evolving from food taste, food variety, prices, specials and service. Although, Johnny Carino’s has been around since 1997 and since then has also been evolving but they’ve had less years and time to evolve.…

First, the atmosphere I see when I arrive, provides a serene message to make me feel like I’m in Italy. The tables are long rectangles or small and quaint, while the seating provides a atmosphere of warmth and comfort. In fact, it’s always well maintained and clean. As I walk in, the immediate smell of delicious food in the air makes my mouth water. The playing of low themed music, helps me relax while seated. The several ceiling fans provide comfort and keeps a cool breeze inside Olive Garden. The bathrooms smell like I entered a Yankee Candle store. The smell of strawberry conceals the normal odors in a bathroom and the many stalls almost guarantee no line.…

The importance of remembering one’s past is significant due to the experiences, memories, and life lessons sought from one’s history. The past is filled with: historical events, recollections, feelings and emotions that develop a person into who they are. The difference between past and present are all that we choose to remember in-between. Further, that which controls your past will ultimately control your future. Hence it is notable to remember the past, because it was a time frame filled with ignorance, a period filled with things one doesn't know and yet to learn. The momentum of ones past is a chronological life story of all the significant events and memories formed.…
