Purpose of the Event (Mission): “Reaching Your Destination” is a program created To give students the tools that they will need to build their brand and become marketable in the contemporary world; therefore, reaching their ultimate destination.
Description of the Event: Many students have all the credentials to become an asset to any company; however, they are not recognizedby these corporations because of large factors that these students are unaware of. “Reaching Your Destination” is designed to give students advice and the skills to become more marketable to companies not only nationally but internationally.. There are essential things that students need improvement in such as resume building , being globally conscious and internationally marketable, getting more involved in on-campus activities and organizations, and building a positive relationship with their professors, deans and other faculty because sometimes it’s not what you know but who you know. This program will solve these problems by presenting sessions on building a solid resume, getting involved in international programs and studying abroad, how to get involved in internships, summer programs and research opportunities, and how to not only set goals but taking the necessary steps to reach them. This program will also provide interview tactics to help leave a lasting impression once a student is presented to a specific company. This will be an RSVP event so we can have nametags ready, providing the attendees name, major and classification, when the students arrive but walk-ins are welcome and nametags can be made on sight. If there are 40+ students then we plan on breaking the students into groups based on majors, if not then it will be a large semi-circle setting so everybody will be able to get involved.
