Male Speaker: This is a story about when Tabitha was kind of sick. Tabitha was kind of like you. Tabitha had a cough and everything, but if you remember when you had strep and your throat really hurt, well, Tabitha’s throat really hurt and it was like on a Friday night. Tabitha’s momma said we have to go to the store and get some cough medicine and sore throat lozenges and the stuff you need from the pharmacy to make your sore throat better. So, we will go on Saturday morning.

Tabitha did not have a good night. She was coughing and all of that. The next morning she got up and they went to the pharmacy to get all the medicine and the pharmacy was closed. It appears that there had been this power outage and all of the electricity was off. So,

They said, what in the world is he going to do? Tabitha’s daddy said, are we sure that the yellow monkey can come through with this? What is he going to do? There are no stores open and what is he going to do. They said, I don’t know. 45 minutes went by an the yellow monkey was not there. 50 minutes went by and he was not there.
55 minutes, and just before one hour was up, here he comes running. He had his arms full of stuff in a big, big bucket. He came up on the front porch and said, okay, what do we need. Tabitha’s momma said that the first thing she needed to do is to make her some ta with honey and we don’t have any in the house. He said, not a problem and he pulled out some tea leaves. Tea grows on these bushes in places called Sumatra and other places. There were some wild tea bushes in the forest and he had picked them.

Not only that, he had taken those leaves, ground them all up, pounded them with a rock and it was very, very like what is inside a tea bag. He had gotten some paper and actually glued together a little tea bag. He said, just drop this into the hot water. So, they made some tea, and said, but there is no honey. He said, oh boy, and pulled out a honeycomb dripping with honey. Dripping, I mean, it was so sticky and dripping with honey, you could have filled up 2 cups full of honey out of

When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them.
