Explain How The Environment In Which You Were Raised
Essay A: What was the environment in which you were raised?
I was born in Texas, but later moved to Pennsylvania when I was four years old. My family and I stayed there until I was in sixth grade at the age of twelve. I mention this, because although I didn’t stay in Pennsylvania for long, that was where I was raised. Where I learned to ride my first bike, where I had my first best friend and my first crush. I was raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, not because it was where I was grew up, but because it was where I made my most noteworthy memories, it was the city that shaped me into the person I am today. I was blessed with a wonderful upbringing, thanks to my family. I had a sister to take after and to look up, someone to lend a helping hand when I was scared or unsure. I had a mother and father, who were strict yet fun, and stern but loving. They all taught me to work for what I wanted, and to treat others how I would in turn wish to be treated. My parents have been nothing but loving, supportive, and patient of me. Even when I think I know everything already, there are the best parents I could have hoped for. Much like my family, my house also played a huge role in how I was raised. I lived in a two story house in accompanied with a living room, a kitchen, computer

I remember the tall hills my sister and I would run up and skateboard down, the church three houses away from my own, and the pond filled with fish that lied at the opposite end of the neighborhood. However, what I remember most, is that every day, I would run outside, knock on a friend’s door, and together, we would go out and play. Whether that entailed playing in their backyard, riding our bikes around the neighborhood, or meeting up with other friends, we would always be either inside playing with toys, or outside with bikes and skip

The people that has have influenced me the most are my parents. My parents are always there for me through thick and thin. They have taught me right from wrong and have guided me the right way throughout life. They have influenced me so much. Because of them I am a responsible young adult. I take responsibility for my own actions. They have taught me to care for others. There is a saying they used to always tell me. “Do to others as you would have them to do to you.” This saying is from the bible in chapter Luke 6:31. My parents have also greatly influenced my religious and political views, but I will not go into that. My parents also taught me to treat others equally because everyone has feelings and we are all the same on this inside. I don’t make fun of people or judge them by the way they look or how they act. They have also told me what not to do in life. For example, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do anything illegal. These things can most of time ruin your life. I am so glad they told and taught me about these things at a young age because if they didn’t I might not…

Years go by, and the same kids you were in grade school with are now the same kids you are in high school with. You know close to everyone in the grade, you know the ways of the halls, and you swear you could drive the roads blindfolded and backwards. For me, this is the town where I learned every backroad and every deer stand within a 20 mile radius. This was my town, this is the town where “We slip out to the field, climb a tree, shoot a deer. I reminisce about these days, man I get a chill.”…

My mother is what I consider a ‘social butterfly’, so this influenced little shy Thisbeth to learn to speak out and communicate freely with others, other than family members. Living with my mom also helped me to learn what could be consider painful experiences. Seeing that my mother is an immigrant from Mexico, she had to ‘restart’ her life after the divorce. My mother taught me what it was to have a strong work ethic, even at times leaving me around the ages of six to ten home alone so she could come home with enough to maintain us both. My mother till this day heavily empathizes the need of being a hard worker.…

I grew up in a two small towns called Ruston, La and Grambling, La. I spent my childhood in Ruston and my teenage years in Grambling. The two towns are so small it's like 1 small town almost. I enjoyed my childhood there. It was a place where kids were free to run and play. Til this day it is still a place where kids can be free and mothers don't have to constantly fret about there child being kidnapped of the street. I remember being up the street outside playing jump rope, volley ball, kickball, football, softball, and basketball with all the neighborhood kids. When evening came and the sun went down I remember my mother standing in the yard calling my name for me to come home because it was getting late.…

When I was a little girl I use to always go to the park and while swinging I would imagine how much cooler it would be to live in a big city with lots of people and many things to see and experience. I never would have thought that at my age I would be sitting and relishing all the amazing times I had in my small home town. The family traditions, slow living and many childhood memories hold my heart in my hometown of Norfolk Nebraska. The boldly colored green grass, light brown cat tails lining the lake shore and fishing poles hanging off a dock all are vivid in my mind when thinking about the weekends I experienced in my adolescence.…

The summer following my sixth grade year was full of kick the can, capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, and many more games played with the neighborhood kids. Some games got out of hand at times. As I tried to tag Conner to stop him from scoring in our little game of capture the ball, I seemed to forget I had a tree in the middle of my yard and I ran straight into it. Once during a competition of “America’s Got Talent” Logan mooned all of us, leaving us girls petrified. Then one hot summer night I was running the bases as we continued our game of whiffle ball while Trenton started to pee in the open onto our homemade bases made of rocks... he didn’t receive chocolate chip cookies with the rest of us that night. Out of all our eventful times the one I treasure most is when we set up our own little camp site. We found two tents and connected them both in my backyard. We slept outside, one tent for the boys and one for the girls. Eventually the boys got scared by a gunshot we heard in the distance so they joined us but were kept at a distance by my mother who kept an eye on us that night. Long games of truth or dare were…

Parsons, Kansas, the place I were born and raised. I had been out of town before and went to another city and state but none to where I was willing to move when I got older. A large part of my family lived here, and this is where all my friends were from. My family was very close and we always spent the holidays together, so It wasn’t as if I was all alone at any time. Every one I needed was no more than a five- block radius from each other, so I could visit and have a good time pretty much all the time. Most of the friends I made in school didn’t leave, so I really had no reason to move when I got older. I enjoyed the country and all it had to offer I could go fishing, ride horses and make mud pies pretty much all day with the kids and go to the bars at night with my friends and family. I really could find no reason to leave, I worked at nursing home and had a pretty nice duplex that I never want to leave. I knew my way around like the back of my hands I had explored that town over the last 25 years; I could make a road map myself. My family was always having some kind of gathering on the weekend that I couldn’t be bored.…
