In my sophomore year, I did participate once in helping handing out the welcome back package/souvenirs to freshmen and current/returning students on the third floor of the administrative building facing the bookstore. Before my community service with them, I visited their website, to learn about them and I was amazed with several areas of crime they deal with in terms of prevention; I was also surprised their “tip-line” (713-222-TIPS) is famously “known as a world leader in crime prevention.” This to me solidifies that they are legit, have trustworthy credibility, and have been around for so many years and are supported by well-known businesses and other organizations. After my encounter, I was and I am still glad to have been given the opportunity while taking all of these communication classes to learn and henceforth I hope to continually share their mission around my peers and community as often as
