Recently, I watched the “Food Inc.”1 film by Robert Kenner. The film discusses various topics that regard the production of food that many of us consume. I will discuss four topics, such as production of chicken, production of corn, E Coli and the health status of Americans.
The first topic that I will cover is about the production of the chicken, such as the house, the helpers, the farmers, the companies and the sanitation of the chicken. The houses for the chicken are really inhumane. I just think of it as how we as humans would feel if we had to encounter and experience this. In my opinion, I would not go through this stably and I believe nothing else should. Also, it’s ironic to allow illegal immigrants to help with the production of chickens, but the government tells us not allow them in the country. I thought that E Coli was only found in meats. I was shocked to see that it can be found in plants. I feel that the numbers are getting higher for the chances that anyone can get E Coli and it has to lessen before any other bacteria disease comes around. In the movie, it shows how many times a food was recalled over the years and where.1I thought it was horrific to see E Coli to happen all over the country in the number of times that year. I believe that we have to do something about this issue before it’s too late. As a person, I found that Kevin’s story to be heartbreaking. I think it’s outrageous that the FDA and the USDA did not do anything to prevent this, as well as forbid this to occur again. In summary, President Obama signed the Food Safety Modernization Act due to Kevin’s Law and to prevent any other bacteria issues to
