Gay Marriage
The world is full of controversy. Controversy is surrounded by a number of things, such as abortion, gangs, bombers, suicides and other controversial topics. On most of these topics, people can’t come into agreement with the different topics. In my opinion, one of the most controversial topics is gay marriage. There are a lot of problems surrounding gay marriage because there are key things that contribute significantly to the pros and cons of gay marriage and how it affects each person in a specific way. I support gay marriage completely and I’m here to explain why.
Many people ask questions like, why are people opposed to gay marriage? Why discriminate against homosexuals? Why care if two people of the same sex are happy together? Many people have different opinions, but I ponder why would people take away someone’s right just because their sexuality is different. Being gay is not legal in the United States, so why should people care how they live and act?
Gay marriage should be legalized because it is uncivilized and unmerited. Our civil rights and the Constitution give us many liberties. One of our civil liberties is the pursuit of happiness, which homosexual people are not allowed to chase. They cannot be married to the person they love and it violates their freedoms. According to professorshouse.com, “In Alaska, Nevada, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Nebraska, Missouri, Michigan, North Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, and Alabama, not only is gay marriage banned, but so are civil partnerships.”
Others might ask why gay marriage should be legalized, but my question is this: why should other people be able to choose who marries who? If a man and a woman get married, no one seems to care. They are two people who feel affection for one another and those two people want to start a family. If we change the scenario a little bit and a man and a man, or a woman and a woman, try to get married it causes uproar.
