George Washington was the first president of the United States after serving two terms as president of this great country. Washington was ready to become just a citizen of the very country that he was once commander and chief, so he writes his Fareware Address to the people. First, Washington acknowledges his friends that let me know that there were people in his life that he liked and trusted and he had grew attached too. Secondly, he then addresses the citizens that allow him to serve.
After his greeting, Washington let the people of the United States know that it was time to sit their minds toward selecting another person in office to fulfill this job as president because after great consideration he would be relinquishing his stand from running another term. He even mentions that he had considered not running the second term but because of the affairs with foreign nation he abandons the idea.
He was appreciative for the eight years that the American people allow him to serve this great country but now it was time to sign up for another four years. Washington felt that the country was doing much better now so he is writing to let the American people know that he would not be serving another term. He was also grateful for the honors that the country had bestowed upon him. Washington remained the people that we are headed in the right direction because with the hands of the men of this country a Constitution was written to bring freedom and rights to every man. Washington encourage the country to be united even if there are differ parties with differ ideas because if we don’t stay together we will lose the freedom that we work so hard to secure. He let them know that other countries don’t have to separate or destroy this country because it can be destroy internal. He also remained them that this country fought hard to get the peace, to enjoy the religious, and security that you fought and died for.
