Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…

This day was significant because it was "The War to end all Wars,” World War I. This day was mainly set aside to show pride to our veterans of World War I. In 1938, Armistice Day, Veterans Day original name, became a legal holiday. In 1945 just after World War II ended, congress changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day. Since then, Veterans Day was created to show pride to American Veterans of every war, with the oddity of a few years in which it was celebrated every year on a Monday, November 11th.…

Acknowledging your veterans is the least you can do for these wonderful people. Most people know that they are safe here in America and have freedom because of the sacrifices veterans have made. For most Americans, we honor our veterans because they served us to be free and without them we wouldn't be free in our country. But why? Why do we honor our veterans years after they're done serving. We need to honor them because they fought and worked hard for friends, family, and country. To me, if we don't honor our veterans it would be heartbreaking to the veterans that made our country free. Also, since we are free we can have our own beliefs and not believe in something that someone else does, and have our own rights so we can do what we want to do. Thank you to all veterans that served for our country so we can be free.…
