Group Analysis: The Fisherman And His Wife
Our first meeting of our group was poorly attended. Alexi and myself were the only members to show up, however Nicole was chatting with us on Google Docs because she was too sick to attend our meeting. This is the meeting where we began writing our first script, which ended up needing to be completely rewritten. Niria took until March, 8th to give me her information to join our group’s GroupMe chat but really contributed to the success of the performance with her dedication to her part and adding in her on personal attitude to her character. Our poor communication in the beginning made the process much more stressful and difficult than it truly needed to be.
From my personal notes, Alexi, Nicole, and myself were the only members to attend

This lack of available time was something that was not easily changeable. Working with six different class, work, and activity schedules made finding practice time very difficult and I am truly in awe of how community theatre is able to produce such wonderful performances with so many varied schedules of volunteers. This project taught me the story of The Fisherman and His Wife, a story that I was surprised to have had never heard before. Discussing the story with the group was very helpful and insightful in the understanding of the driving concept of the story. I really enjoyed our interpretation of it through the concept of greed and our references to popular culture.
Overall, I believe the project went well. Sure, we could have practiced more or been more focused in practice, but I believe we put together a decent production of an updated version of The Fisherman and His Wife. Once we figured out the kinks in our scheduling and communicating, I think we worked well together and made the collaboration a fun and enjoyable experience. I personally believe that every group member ended up contributing well to the production of Greed: A Modern Interpretation of A Fisherman and His

Also we could have introduced ourselves and our care profession at the start of the meeting and shook one another’s hand showing courtesy and politeness. Other ways which we could of improved it is by not having our coats on and so that we are more comfortable and can move about easily for use of good body language. Another way which we could have improved it in our group would be by sitting in more of a closed circle so that we can hear one another efficiently and can see each other clearly in order to see body language and facial expressions. This will help make communication effective and avoid misinterpretations so that no mistakes in the meeting are made. I feel that I could of improved the way that I acted with the group as I feel that I took a direct approach which made me out to be the main person/leader of the group who was in charge due to be speaking up and setting up the topic for discussion. By speaking up in the group with my opinions this may have made the others in the group shy and they may not feel as confident in expressing their opinions. Therefore I would improve this by making it all equal between one another so that others feel that they are on the same level and can speak up and say what they would like to…

The class activity focused on understanding pathos, logos, and ethos in visual components. By recognizing the power these appeals have over the audience from simple thigs like font type and placement of images was extremely helpful for creating my visual component of the project. The activity made me realize that I had to change the way I presented my information rhetorically. I made the information simple for the audience to understand and took into account what colors and drawings would be the most engaging. That specific class activity allowed me to change my approach to have the most affective…

The group research project was more difficult than anticipated. The reason for that was because my group members and I had such different schedules that it was hard to find a time where we could all meet up. Though it was difficult I enjoyed it very much because of all the additional things that I learned about the Bracero Program and the new things that I learned about the Visa Program and specifically the H-2A program. There were many informative sites which made finding information on the topic less difficult, which was a benefit since we could not meet up as much and work together. When it came to problems the only thing that really came up for the group was just being together which was quickly resolved after a while.…

OPRF high school is brimming with diverse cliques, groups, and clubs. But one particular cohort seems to stand out from the rest. The theatre department, overseen by Michelle Bayer, can be described as a whirlwind of activity, with 10 official productions each year. My group researched it for the education unit, but the majority of them were unfamiliar with the activity, and I felt the overall presentation was unrepresentative of what high school theatre is. It can be characterized, primarily, by an abundance of drama, both in the acting sense, and in the social sense. Theatre kids are infamous for their diva-like attitudes, and occasional entitlement. I had the opportunity to observe these behaviors up close and personal with my shows I participated in this year.…

I absolutely loved this project and experience overall. We got the idea for this project after seeing the movie, "Freedom Writers". I went with three of my four other teammates to see it for our first paper and when we walked out, the three of us couldn't shut up about how much we loved and were inspired by the movie. On the way back from the movie, we got the idea to do a spin off of the movie for our project. The whole way home from the theater we were coming up with ideas for our upcoming project. When we finally began working on the project, it fell into place fairly well because we were so intrigued with the inspiration we each had. This project brought forward so many new aspects of teaching to my attention and really got me motivated…

Everyone in our group had contributed much to the final outcome. And each member was on behalf of different responsibilities of the group work. Loan Tran, like a group leader, always offer a rough proposal which tight up with our final objective, furthermore, she was responsible for presentation very professional. However, she was trying to insist on her own idea sometimes that means she disregard few ideas from others. Pridsadang Posanakul as another presenter, made more effort than other group members because he also finished his own part for case study very well. For Ngan Dang and Mazlan Nur, they also did well about their…

For this project we learned about Socialization. Socialization is the study of society and the affect it has on a person. We learned about the cycle created by Bobby Harrow. The cycle has 8 parts which are, The Beginning, First Socialization, Institutional and Cultural Socialization, Enforcements, Results, Actions, Directions for Change, and the Core. The core of the cycle is attached to all other parts of the cycle and it consists mostly of fear in people. This fear is people's fear of cycle and that they are too small to beat it. This feeds the cycle and only makes it stronger. After learning this we designed and made a mask of our own face that somehow represented our relationship with the cycle. Then as a class we built an exhibition that…

Also we learned that the less stressed you are in your working environment the longer you will live. As well as the life expectancy of different neighborhoods based on their incomes. The other video we saw was about a plant relocating and how the workers of the plant tried to get by after they got laid off.…

RYLA is a week long leadership conference held for juniors from surrounding schools. Juniors fill out an application and are later interviewed and chosen to attend the conference. The main goal at RYLA is to be able to achieve leadership through various activities, with a small group of 16 other people, who I now consider family members. I never thought that i could grow so close to 16 other people in a weeks time but I did. I will never forget their names. (Ronnie, Nate, Molly, Maggie-Rose, Kayla, Kennedy, Abbey, Roger, Zach, Beth, Emily, Taylor, Kaleb, Jackie, Nicole, Olivia). I couldn't have asked for a better small group. Throughout the week of RYLA we had long days of getting to know each others' greatest and saddest moments, laughed and cried with eachother, and worked out some mind boggling team building problems…
