Imagine this; You’re out with your friends, possibly at a concert or some theme park or even the mall, and you’re having a great time. You see a shifty stranger looking around the room, their eyes darting from person to person and exit to exit. Suddenly, they pull out a gun. You, your friends, and the surrounding bystanders are mowed down by rapid gunfire. You are now a victim of a mass shooting. How does it feel? You’re completely innocent, never saw the person who killed you before, and you’re still dead. It’s not a pretty sight, nor are the hundreds of people who die due to guns being given to the wrong people. Gun control will prevent deaths by lowering suicides, homicides, and mass shootings. If an inexperienced or irresponsible person is misusing a gun, they take the risk of shooting themselves or others. Had there been a certain test or something to judge their right to own arms, like a license, then there would be less deaths. According to cagv.org, “U.S. children and young adults have more than 10 times the risk of being killed by unintentional gunshot”. These are kids and young adults we’re talking about. Actual. KIDS! Who are dying because of the misuse of weapons. Had the young adults that owned the guns gone through the process of getting a license, they might better understand what to do and not do, thus decreasing the chance to kill someone on accident. The youth of our society who get guns, whether from buying or finding them, are in danger. Guns are dangerous. End of discussion.
