Does the journey matter more than the destination? Three pieces of text discuss the importance of a journey are “Hero's Adventure “by Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers, “Courage”by Anne Sexton, and “The Road Not Taken “by Robert Frost. The journey matters more than the destination when things change a lot in you throughout the journey. Mistake that happen in life can lead us to success better. Meanwhile Anne Sexton writes,”It is in the small things we see it, the child's first step as awesome as an earthquake. The first time you rode a bike, wallowing up the sidewalk .The first spanking when your heart went on journey all alone. When they called you crybaby or poor or fatty or crazy and made you into an alien, you drank their acid and concealed it. Later ,”(lines 1-13) This is explaining the journey you take while you are born and started growing up little by little. Another piece of textual evidence that shows traveller has new experiences in the journey is when, “you face old age and its natural conclusion your courage will still be shown in the little ways, each spring will be sword you'll sharpen, those you love will live in a fever of love, and you'll bargain with the calendar and at the last moment when death opens the back door you'll put on your carpet slippers and stride out.”(lines 39-47) This shows a journey that display a experience of being old at a certain age. Also,it shows that by the time you get old you realize that you're getting to a point that you're going to die but knowing and remembering all the good stuff you had done in your life. Although Robert Frost writes,”Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,and sorry i could not travled both and be one traveler ,long i stood and looked down one as far as i could to where i bent in the undergrowth ,”(lines 20)This is explaining that he had stand in between the two road and realize that he didn't really know which road to pick so it could lead him to better world. Also,he had wisdom of not picking the right one for him and he did not realize what he really wanted. Another evidence that Robert Frost writes is,”i shall be telling this with sigh somewhere ages and ages hence two roads diverged in a wood,and i took the one less traveled by, and that had made all the difference.”(lines 10 ) This is shows wisdom because he had took the one that had to traveled less and that had lead him to wrong life. Also, he had regretted of choosing the wrong road instead of the right road because that he didn't realize what the road could of took him to. This quote is proof that the journey is more important than the destination because it leaded him a point of realizing how hard it can be to make a simple decision and how that simple decision will lead to horrible
