Gun control generally refers to laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification or use of firearms. In the U.S the argument for more gun control has increased over the past decade from mass shootings like the Colorado Movie Theater Shooting in July of 2012 and the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in December of 2012. This shows that there is a need for guns, and they are used for self-defense and protection. If guns are used that many times a year for self-defense, then there is a purpose for them and why there shouldn’t be any more stricter gun control laws. 61% of man and 86% of women said “stricter gun control laws would make obtaining guns and protecting themselves, more difficult”(www.gun-control.procon.org).
