How I Managed To Meet My Personal Standards
During my time at BHS I’ve managed to meet my personal standards and achieve my highest goal that I’ve set for myself. A college has been the path that I have chosen to be on since I was a little girl and that’s the biggest thing I’ve achieved. Personally moving on to college and making something of you own self is the best thing anyone could do for themselves in my opinion. It was a way for me to prove that I could excel past the limitations that my surroundings and environment had set for me and become something different than what I was expected to be by my society. My parents went to college, but never actually finished and thieve always wanted me to further myself and I appreciate the effort they went through to try to help me achieve just that.
I’ve been part of two clubs, Anime club (2 years leadership), and GSA (one-year leadership), in which I have sustained a leadership role of Vice President I’ve helped manage the Haunted House the senior class had done as a fundraiser. My responsibilities in the Haunted House was building, managing, and helping with the maintenance of the house while it was running during the month of October. This was a reasoning I wanted to be a master tutor my second semester of my junior year and all of my senior year. I wanted to help the students, especially in Science, to try to get better grades and hopefully inspire them to be a great student as well. I had the pleasure of being Mrs. Ellis 7th hour master tutor where I help most of the class in the subject as well as in others. I wish to help more students in the future to become better students and people, but my limitations lie in paying for my

Leadership is a lifestyle, not a role one adopts. Leadership requires strength and power, but also the ability to empathize and recognize others' needs. As a high school student, I have had many opportunities to be a leader, whether it be through clubs, group projects, or extracurricular activities. During my Junior year, I assistant directed the play Steel Magnolias under the eye of my drama teacher as well as a college student director. This role allowed me to learn the ropes of directing as well as take care of the six girls cast in the show. I adapted the role of the "stage mom," making sure every hair was curled to perfection and every prop was in its place, as well as ensuring their lines were memorized and their staging was proper. During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

One example when I have shown service and my leadership ability is when I helped coach youth soccer the past 3 years here in the Lindsborg, Kansas community. Every spring season, the men’s and women’s soccer programs here at Bethany College help coach kids ages 4-12, we conduct practices and games for the youth of the community. One player from both the men’s and women’s team is paired up and together they are in charge of their own…

I wanted them to accomplish more than they thought was possible and to do it not because they need to but also for the fun of it. I believe that I exhibit leadership skills in school, both in class and on the hockey field, which has helped further develop my organizational and leadership skills. Preparatory school has marked a few of my significant leadership roles, such as being voted class representative for three years, being picked as a library prefect in year four, and finally chosen by teachers to a prefect in year eight. I have also been captain and co-captain of several netball, hockey and rounders teams. I believe that these leadership roles provided a great platform for me to continue to nurture my leadership skills. In addition, I believe that my leadership skills are not just exhibited in school, but also in Church.…

First of all, I display excellent leadership skills. For example, in JROTC I am the 1st Sergeant and it isn't a rank that just anyone could get. I am responsible for correcting uniform violations, the accountability for all cadets in Alpha company , as well as taking control of the company in the absence of all officers. Being the 1st Sergeant takes a lot of discipline and attention to the job because if something goes left it all falls on me. I also served as Beta Club secretary 8th grade year and co-secretary my 9th and 10th grade years. As secretary, it was my duty to ensure that meetings are organized, recorded and minuted. Notes from past meetings had to be handled properly and decisions made during those meetings had to be recorded and presented to the everyone. One of the lessons that is taught in JROTC is to lead , you first must serve others.…

I have partaken in TI@ti, sophomore year and currently, which is an organization based on increasing leaderships skills and increasing awareness against drugs and alcohol. Last year, I guided peers to make healthier life choices and to take positive risks. I stepped up when my advisors, Ms. Ramirez and Mr. Rosenfeld (at the time) needed presenters for the PTSO meetings, Saturday Academy for 7th and 8th graders, and for 600+ seniors who attended prom last school year. The Saturday Academy was a huge leadership role where I had to advise seventh and eighth graders on what to expect from high school. I volunteer at various locations such as for the 9/11 Day of Service, Jersey Cares Day, and Paterson’s Operation clean up. In all of these services, I did landscaping because I felt as if the…

One time I took a leadership role that was the most relevant to me was when I was the leader in my robotics team in high school. I needed to take the role because everyone else seemed lost and I was the only one with previous robotics experience so I told everyone if they mid if I become the group leader and no one minded. One thing I learned about myself by being the leader is I am very good at giving people specific jobs and keeping everyone on task without them getting distracted. Another thing I learned about myself is i am a strict yet fun leader because I know when its time to stop playing around and get to…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…
