How to Protect the Environment
Character is a pattern of behavior, thoughts and feelings based on universal principles, moral strength, and integrity – plus the guts to live by those principles every day. Character is evidenced by your life’s virtues and the “line you never cross.” Character is the most valuable thing you have, and nobody can ever take it away.
Why Character is Important
Character in life is what makes people believe in you and is essential both for individual success and for our society to function successfully. Each individual must do his or her part every day by living a life of integrity.
Integrity is adhering to a moral code of honesty, courage, strength and truthfulness – being true to your word. When you don’t exhibit integrity, other people get hurt. But you hurt yourself even more.
When you cheat, your “success” is false. When you break a promise, you are showing that your word is meaningless. When you lie, you deceive others and lose their respect.
All of those examples destroy your reputation and break the trust others have in you. Without your good reputation and trustworthiness, your relationships fail.
Relationships and Success
Relationships are the foundation for success in life.
For example, when you destroy the relationships with your friends, you will have no friends. You will be isolated and alone.
If a student promises not to cheat, but does, he is taking unfair advantage to put himself ahead of others without deserving it. He can ruin his reputation, his academic record and his job prospects forever.
When a businessman makes a promise to customers and doesn’t deliver, he destroys his relationships with his customers. His customers go elsewhere and his business fails.
By breaking your relationships, you break the foundation for success in your life. What is true success? For example, who is more successful? Someone who is famous and makes a great deal of money, or someone who has no fame, makes little money, but is a great parent? Today, in school, is too

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

Having character is being trustworthy, honest, empathetic and respectful. This means doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. I always search for the best in everyone because no one is perfect and we all have made poor decisions in our lifetime. I take responsibilities in my actions and others I am responsible for. It is difficult for me to admit that I am wrong but I still do because it is the right thing to do. I have had a friend who was suffering from depression and wanted to harm themselves. I was scared for them because depression is a disease and it is not their fault that they are like that. I had them speak to an adult and they are currently recovering. I was very scared that she had cut marks on her wrist because it could have gotten worst. I cried because I did not want to lose a friend. On a field trip, I found a five dollar bill on the pavement. I asked the first adult I saw who was slightly ahead of me if it was hers. She said that it must have dropped out of her purse when she was walking. The teacher was really surprised because she said I could have easily kept it for myself. I would feel bad if I took someone else’s money even if it was just lying…

From one person to the next you have probably heard you’re so pretty, you’re very intelligent, and you’re the funniest person I have ever met. It is precisely understood what all of these compliments are saying, but when someone pays you the highest compliment of having good character how do you process the actual meaning? What sort of actions do you take that shows you have good character and are sincere to others. Many factors can go into an individual having good character but those factors can also be very different from one person to another. When I think about someone with good character I think of a person who is, both in public and private, candid from deep within without expecting others to reciprocate the same actions unto him/herself. It is a person who gives willingly time after time and day after day and knows that even if his/her good deeds goes unacknowledged at that moment a blessing will surely still come their way. You will go with your needs unmet in order to please others and display fairness. Many people may associate this action with being gullible but it’s just a way that separates people who do what is right all the time from people who do what is right some of the time. An individual with good character doesn’t just cut it on and off for certain people and wait for others to do for them before they do for others; they are twenty four hours and seven days a week good to others in the light and behind closed doors. Normally good character people can be recognized by other sincere people and even by the not so sincere people. If someone inflicts harm or verbal abuse upon you and you don’t go out of your way to get that person back with the same actions, I consider that good character. If it doesn’t upset you that someone takes longer to do something for you than it takes for you to do for them then that is good character. When you still come to aid a person regardless of how they have treated you and you can put it in the past…

Character is the summation of qualities, actions and tendencies which distinguish people from another. Eventually, our character is what we do when no one is looking. Human personality should always be praised and no one should ever put anyone down for having a different kinds of personality. It is truly just allowing people to be who they are unless they are in violation of other human’s rights. A part from that, our character actually change based on the environment and it is different from our actual character. So basically people will have different kind of characteristic for different situation in their life. A quote that I live by is, “People don’t always behave the way they use to, but it doesn’t mean the way they behave is wrong.” Everyone has their own reasons to be a hypocrite. Some of the reasons can be good and some can be bad. It is all based on the individual situations. As for me, I also keep changing my attitude based on different condition I bumped in. The two part of my life that are conspicuously different are myself as a student and myself at my own hometown. I am a well-behaved student in school, dissimilar with my active behaviour at home. This shows that I have a double life. I change my attitude without realizing it. I do this as for my own way to survive in two different situations. The contrast part of my life is my personalities when I was in school and when I was at home.…
