Interpersonal Relationship and Honesty
Magali Gonzalez Period 1 English 10th 7/11/13

Essay #4

Why is honesty important in a friendship or relationship? Honesty is important because that’s how u build a connection with that person. You get to trust that person and tell them your deepest secrets and things like that. You could be able to trust that person with anything that u have to say or when u are down. You just need a person to talk to or cry on their shoulder and just let it out and things like that. An honest person is trusted and respected in society. I think that honesty is important because you trust and respect that person with all your love and protection. In order to have somebody’s trust you have to know them for a long time in order to tell them anything. Also your other half should trust u with anything they will like u to know about themselves. People should trust their other half and they don’t that trust and respect that u had is going to waste. Honesty is a very important thing to have in a friendship or u will end up being hurt like some people in this world. I think the reason why honesty is important because u build that strong connection with them that u can’t let go of. For example look at me and my best friend we have this close relationship between us. Like we tell each other everything that we have on our chest about one another or about people that annoy us. We still know it until this exact day even though she is not going to be out here for our senior but she will always be remembered. My best friend and myself we keep a close friendship no matter what it is. I say that honesty is important because u build a long and distance relationship with that person that u believe in. if u hate that person with all power than you guys are not meant for each other at all. Friends will be friends enemies will eventually become friends but as soon as u turn away from them they will be talking mess behind ur back. Without friends u will become a loser

Our Constitution begins with the words, “We the People”, not we the government, or we the wealthy elite, but “We the People”. Our democracy was founded on the basic ideals that everyone should have a say, and that everyone’s opinion matters. This has been the selling point for America for generations, that we are a society of equal opportunity, “The land of the free” as our national anthem states. And yet we aren’t a pure democracy. The people do not enact or vote on laws, they don’t have a say in how the government spends its money. Instead we elect people to do this for us, we are a representative democracy, a republic. This system is efficient, and has kept our nation going for its period of existence, but it has its flaws. One of the largest…

I cherish honesty because when I was growing up, I was taught to always be honest with myself and others as well. Honesty is really the best policy because when one is being honest with others, they gain their trust and understanding. Honesty can be defined as “the quality of being fair and truthful : the quality of being honest” (Merriam Webster, 2016). I can use honesty in my professional life by gaining trust with my coworkers and building connections with them simply by being honest with them. Honesty does build trust because no one wants someone who is going to lie to them around them all the…

The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most popular peace treaties that ended World War I. At the end of the war, the Allied Powers defeated Germany, demanding Germany sign to the harsh conditions of the treaty. The United States also isolated themselves from all European and Asian conflicts. Both the harsh treaty conditions and the policy of isolation by the United States led to the rise of Hitler and the beginning of World War II.…

Next, being honest keeps trust with others. For example, Cohen states in the article, “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying” that “One key cost is credibility: Once a person finds out you lied, you lose currency in their eyes” (Para. 12). This shows how you should tell the truth instead of lying. This also shows how being honest keeps trust with others. Your credibility is not worth giving up for a lie.…

Telling the truth is an important part of a trusting relationship, in or out of the workplace. Of course, honesty needs to be combined with other qualities such as patience, compassion and an open mind to differences in opinion. However, once you have established a foundation of honesty between you and your coworkers, an office begins to operate as a unified team rather than a collection of individual entities who will keep information to themselves. Not only does this make the organization more efficient, with…

Respect for each another is imperative in a friendship. Everyone has secrets, so one should not press for answers when the other is clearly unwilling to share the information. If the person wants to share the secret, it is important to be a good listener. One should be responsible by never compromising a friend’s trust and revealing it to other people. In addition to being considerate of another’s privacy, a good friend should not be too judgmental. Although one should never be afraid to contradict a friend, as everyone is allowed to have his own opinion, he should be mindful of the friend’s feelings.…

The ability to have honesty is to do the right thing even if it may be hard. Honesty starts with a vision of what is right, not based on what somebody says is right but on what you feel in your heart is right. A year ago, one of my best friends wanted to participate in a talent show at school. She always had a thing for singing and she sang all the time. Where ever she went she had a song in her head. Unfortunately she did not have the best voice to carry out her songs. So one day I sat her down before the…
