1.Based on this scenario and the STABEN approach, I would start with addressing the family members concerns right away. The source of this conflict is the patient's family member. I feel that I would find a private area to address the family members concerns immediately. Usually I would give someone time to cool off, but in this particular scenario I feel that would only make the family member more infuriated since one of the concerns is staff ignoring the patient. After finding a private room, I would possibly start off by complementing what the family member is wearing. I feel in this scenario, the behavior would be the manner in which the family member approached me. I would explain that I felt disrespected. The hotel that I am researching on is Four Season Hotel. It is located at 21 Avenue Road, Toronto, Ontario. This is close to Bloor Street and Avenue Road. This hotel consists of thirty-two floors and has maintained its freshness through frequent renovations. However, throughout all the renovations the hotel was able to keep its signature elements like the lobby’s impressive black and white marble floors and a cove ceiling bathed in soft light. Moreover, the Lobby, the Avenue Bars, and the lounge in the hotel are also attractive to those who live in Yorkville area. The major issues present in the “bagel hockey” conundrum are that the employees are unhappy and lack enthusiasm for their job, a few “games” have been created by the same unenthusiastic employees which have led to a decrease in the quality of customer service as well as an appreciable loss of food, the supervisors in this situation are not doing their jobs, and finally the manager of the cafeteria has created too much of a lax atmosphere that was conducive to these behaviors. The majority of these problems stem from the lack of employee enthusiasm for their job, so it is important that the issue of low employee morale be dealt with first and given the most attention from the manager. In order to combat the morale issue employees should be rewarded for good work (through a program like employee of the month) their accomplishments recognized and praised through the use of a comment card box, and finally employees need to be posed the question “what would make coming to work more enjoyable for you?” The second issue can be solved by using these same tactics as it can trace its origin back to the first issue. The third issue needs to be combatted through a training session for the supervisors where they are reminded of their job descriptions. Remington Hotel is located near NAIA 3, beside the Resorts World Manila. The hotel is good but has some flaws that has a need to work on knowing the hotel is rated as 4-star. As a hotel, they must repair and maintain facilities as it is needed. But when we arrived to the hotel, one of their interior design is not functioning, which is a demerit for their hotel. And no personnel from the department of repair is fixing it. The hallway of the hotel is very simple, as a 4-star hotel, being classy yet elegant is a must, but then, we felt like we are in a dormitory as we walked through the hallway and corridors. The elevator is well functioning, the good thing about their elevator is their ving card system, where in a guest can only go to a certain floor where his/her room is located. The room is okay. I cannot say that is very good since it doesn’t has a mini bar which is one of the requirements of a guest room, also, the bathroom is not spacious, and it does not have a bath tub. Also, I did not saw their spa and gym, which I doubted they have as well as their convention halls. Their personnel are accommodating, good looking, and practice being hygienic. The female personnel’s hair are in bun, they wear a light make up, and proper uniform, while men personnel’s hair are properly trimmed, and they wear proper uniform. Another thing I am concerned with is their reception area is far from the doors of the hotel.
