Pre-Requisites:
1. Eng101 English for Specific Purpose 2. Bus101 Business Communication I

Introduction:

A language needs analysis conducted in one Business Company,Duzon E&H Philippines, located in Life Building, Corporate Avenue, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City which offers Online English Teaching for Koreans and has been in business for seven (7) years with a population of approximately 200 teachers and the students are approximately 2,000 (30% are Business English Students) has discussed the identified and analyzed English language needs of Korean business professionals in performing their writing tasks using task-based approach in teaching and learning a language. In order to address few of the analyzed needs exhibited by the students, this course syllabus is developed.

Course Description:

Business Writing focus primarily on ensuring that students understand the basic business writing needs they will encounter in their workplace. As a service course, the goals, objectives, and teaching topics have been carefully developed to satisfy the classroom and workplace writing needs of the students in Duzon E&H Philippines. This course will cover the sorts of correspondence that include various forms of written communication such as emails, memos, and letters.Students may be asked to draft a variety of simple and complex business reports. Complex business reports may be written to address specific business scenario problems. Students in this course have the opportunity to research and compile a comprehensive business proposal that solves a problem, markets a new product, or funds a product, idea, or solution to an existing problem.

Course Goals:

The purpose of this course is for students to: • Significantly improve their ability to write effective business/professional communication • Demonstrate mastery of standard grammar and writing mechanics • Utilize various strategies and organizational techniques in the writing process
