Kobe Bryant played all twenty seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. During his basketball career in the NBA Kobe accumulated 32,310 points. Only
two other people in NBA history have received more points than Kobe and that is Kareem Abdual-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36,928). The average player scores between 18-20 points in a career but Kobe has averaged 25 Points Per Game (PPG) for his whole career. But Kobe had three seasons where he averaged more than 30 (PPG) for those seasons. On December 14, 2014 Kobe would surpass Micheal Jordan to become the third all-time scorer in NBA history.
On January 22, 2006 Kobe did the unthinkable, he dropped 81 points in a single NBA game. Only two players in NBA history have ever achieved this record. Wilt Chamberlin’s who played for the Philadelphia Warriors scored a 100-point game in 1962. Kobe would become the second player to score the most points in a single game with 81 points during his game against the Toronto Raptors in 2006. Kobe has yet to be replaced with his number two spot for most points in a single game.
During Kobe’s twenty seasons with the Lakers he won five NBA championships. His first three championship rings were won with another NBA Hall of Famer Shaq. They would go on to win three championships known as a “three peat” which means they won three season back to back to back. When Shaq left in the 2003-04 season, it would take Kobe and the Lakers five seasons to get back on a championship run, but in the season of 2009-10 they would take the glory once again. The last championship Kobe would win in his career is during the 2010-2011 season where the Lakers beat the Celtics 83-79.
In conclusion, Kobe Bryant is arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Through his determination he was able to score more than eighty points in a single game. He would become the third person to accumulate the most basketball points thru his career even surpassing the great Micheal Jordon. In the end Kobe Bryant would win five champions with a phenomenal basketball team. Kobe will go down in history as one of the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
