“How about we stop for a water break?” I asked, sitting down.

Juanita stopped and looked at her backpack before whispering, “It’s not here.”
“I’m sure it’s here,” I said.
“We didn’t take the bottles out anywhere.” Juanita then replied, “No, the bottles are here but the waters just gone!”
“It was probably El Nagual!” exclaimed Velia.
“He probably needed it for his potion!” agreed Delia.
“Well, it doesn’t matter what happened to the water, we should get some more.” I said, looking at the map to try and find a nearby river or creek. Thankfully, we found a nearby swamp and started walking there.

La Yucamama is a gigantic anaconda with giant scales and eyes glowing like the full moon. I look again at Juanita and see the Yacumama’s body twisting around and around Juanita’s tiny body, trying to suffocate her.
The “Juanita” is a great idea! !” I yell, running towards the water, until I get pulled back by a small creature.
“Dejame ayudarla, let me help her” The small creature says, running towards the serpent.
“Hola serpiencita,” (Hello little serpent) the creature says, “You’re looking at my bonita today! How about you put la Chica down?” he asked. Very pretty.
I was honestly curious. How could a small thing like Juanita save Juanita from such a terrifying snake?
