Learning styles are based on individual ability and desire to learn, the three main learning styles are visual, auditory and…
A learning style is the way in which a person processes new information. In the learning system there are three main types of learning which are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. People may learn best by being taught with the three learning methods, but others may not. Visual learners are people who learn by seeing. These people learn more where there are images, graphs, diagrams, and colors involved. Visual learners are learners that first have to see what they are expected to know. Auditory learners learn best by hearing. Lastly, there is the kinesthetic learners, also known as tactile learners, those learners learn best by the physical activity. In a class the students’ way of learning might not be the way the professor…
Children are individuals and as such will learn in different ways, whether by visual, auditory, kinesthetic or tactile means. The learning style of the child is based upon the use of five senses being involved in the learning process and which is then transferred into their preferred style of learning. This is why it is important to have…
Intuitive learners often look at the theories instead of the facts, for them it is not about how accurate the actual information is but how much meaning it has whether it being spiritual or cultural sometimes maybe they just understand the theory more than they do the facts. However sensory learners prefer the facts to the theories and are very accurate with their thoughts and factual. This often takes time to understand the information.…
About 42% of students are visual learners and about 30% of students are kinesthetic learners.. Yet in colleges they use a lot of lecture classes when only 19% of students are auditory learners. Visual learners need to watch the teacher physically do what they're teaching or have pictures to link what they are learning to. kinesthetic learner need to actually try what they are learning for themselves. I think that the most effective way for people to learn is with a mixture of every learning type..…
information. By learning their five senses they can relate to the world around them and even perceive that without one of their senses life would be difficult but not manageable. In this activity the student learn to identify the objects and the schema of…
The Hudson River and PCB Pollution The Hudson River is a body of water that stretches for 315 miles from the Adirondack Mountains to the Battery in Manhattan, reaching its deepest point of 216 feet in the Highlands near Constitution Island and West Point and reaches its widest point of 3 miles across at Havestraw. This river is one of the most beautiful and scenic of the Tri-State area. Unfortunately, it happens to be New York 's most polluted river. The river has been influenced upon since the early 1600 's, when Englishman Henry Hudson commanded the Dutch ship Half Moon on an exploration of the river, certain that he had discovered a trade route to China. It soon dawned that this was no Atlantic-to-Pacific passage but an Edenlike place of awesome potential-a river valley teeming with prospect and spirit that was worth fighting for. In the centuries that followed, the fight for the river and its commerce never stopped, and still continues to the present. Then during the Industrial Revolution, with the advent of hulking manufacturing plants on the riverbanks, everything changed. The river became a sewer, cut off from the people around it by the electrification of the railroads. The 1825 completion of the Erie Canal instantly opened trade to the Midwest by linking Troy to Buffalo and established the Hudson River as the major commerce channel for New York City. Tycoons transformed the landscape in New York and across the country with the railroad, and the Hudson River valley became a hotbed for iron mining, limestone quarrying and clear-cutting. Toward the 19th century, when dynamite blasting was reducing the face of the Palisades to rubble, conservationists became alarmed that something was being lost to progress. In 1900, New York and New Jersey established the Palisades Interstate Park Commission to preserve the cliffs from further quarrying. Although conservation efforts continued into the 20th century, there was no progress…
Learning styles are simply different approaches or ways of learning. One of the recognised ways of categorising these learning styles is by the VAK model (Table 1).…
One of the most important learning styles that aides my learning process is the visual learning style. Saying that, this learning style allows me to understand and multi task two things at the same time to solve a challenging problem. For example, in mathematics I can be adding and subtracting double denominators and changing fractions at the same time. This learning style helps me grasp the content better and enables me to enjoy it. At times it is necessary to combine more than one learning style to obtain the objective and yield a positive outcome in the learning process. When reading any new material, identifying…
This exercise has taught me a lot on my way of thinking, concentrating, and contact with people. I never knew that these learning styles determine how I perceive my everyday functions. Until now I always thought of myself being a Visual learner, I have to see it in order to understand it. I am a see it, to believe it type of woman. After taking the self-test and reviewing the chart, my way of thinking is much broader. I do all three of the learning styles. I had to sit back and say; am I weird? Am I just able to learn, all different Ways.…

Health promotion includes identifying obstacles, teaching as well as encouraging and educating positive health behaviors. It is promoting awareness so health care professionals will empower individuals they come in contact with, either in the community, and elsewhere. They must strive to give uninterrupted attention and time to educate which will contribute to effective learning. However, health promotion goes beyond providing health teaching it will also increases the vitality and stimulate a sense of well-being.…
I have a couple different ways I learn things. One way I learn something is visual learning. That’s when I see someone do the task. The second way I learn things is auditory learning. That is when I listen to someone…
Each individual in a class may fall in several group therefore the teacher should incorporate all VARK modalities when teaching their student. This will help all the students to learn instead of just a particular group of students. A teacher must cater to the attention of the Visual learner by doing role models, giving demonstration, showing visual aids or presentation of diagrams and charts to help the visual learner achieve their goal of learning. The teacher should be aware the students learning styles to create a meaningful session. If all the students in a class are aural learners the session would mostly involves lectures, instead of giving out pamphlets and giving chapters from text book to read. All this may go well for the read/write group of learners but does not help aural learners. This will help the teacher because her students will learn better and time would be used appropriately. A student can choose their method of study if they are aware of their study style. Classroom setting may go well for an aural learner and read/write learner. They will have the opportunity of listening to lectures given by their teacher and then take notes and seek clarification through asking questions. A practical course may go well for a visual learner as well as a kinesthetic they get the chance of looking at demonstration or a picture of the actual content of what is being taught.
