Mars 3 Research Paper

Mars 3 was the first Unmanned space probe to land Mars after its twin Mars 2 crashed while landing on the surface of Mars. There is a picture located below to show the space probe. Mars 3 was the first one probe to softly land on the surface of Mars. The probe was launched on May 28, 1971 after 9 days that Mars 2 was launched, by the USSR also known as the Soviet Union the probe were launched by Proton-K rockets with Block Dupper stages. The 10,250-pound Mars 3 spacecraft was comprised of an orbiter and a lander. Once in orbit, the two pieces separated and the 2,500 pound lander housed in a four foot diameter sphere started its descent to the surface. Soviet Union programmers believed that this space probe landed near the Ptolemaeus Crater. It was a flawless probe the Soviet Union engineers knew everything would go great until Mars 3 space probe had a technical difficulty no one knew what was going on the last picture the engineers received was the picture located below. What engineers thought that happened to this that it was probably destroyed by something or someone. It would been a successful mission until this happened. Otherwise Mars 3 space probe was a great mission we still haven't found the space probe still unknown of what happened to it. But that was not going to stop the Soviet Union from Investigating planet Mars, so of course they sent many other space probes to discover more about the planet. Some articles say that Mars 3 only lasted about 3-4 minutes after landing on the planet which I’m not so sure.
