Mistakes And Failures In Middle School
Mistakes and Failures are Lessons “In life, the things that go wrong are often the very things that lead to other things going right.” - Arianna Huffington. Middle school is like Mount Everest, where you have to train and work hard to reach the goal, high school, yet there are checkpoints along the way. Each grade in middle school is another checkpoint and you can only reach the next point by not giving up, no matter how hard the task at hand is. Not giving up can be hard, but my journey through middle school taught me that in order to succeed and reach the top, I needed to be okay with my mistakes and failures. First, I want to thank all of the teachers who taught me to learn from my mistakes and move on. It’s hard for me to write essays …show more content…
Hey, I mean you all just tell me if you hadn’t felt that way on the first day of middle school too! Before starting middle school, I had goals in mind. One, that I would never get a tardy, and strive to get straight A’s, but, there was the time for that day to come! I scrambled to my locker trying to open it but the combination numbers got mixed up! Right when I get my locker open, boom, the second bell rings! I did not just hear that go on! Quickly I ran into class, only to find out, I was tardy! My goal was crushed and I was sad. But later, I realised I had to learn from my mistakes and press on towards the goal. Having even a lot more failures during sixth grade like grades dropping slowly, I found out that the hardest task for me was writing long essays. I normally didn’t do so well. From fifth grade of just writing one paragraph, to writing five paragraph essays in sixth grade! Even this speech was hard for me to write! Yet, with many mistakes on my essays, I learned from each essay I wrote. Improving each one, getting better and learning that I had to take my mistakes and use them to

Obstacles and hardships are what shape a person. One of my many obstacles I had to face was getting use to my freshman year in high school. Due to me going to an Early college my freshman experience may have been a little different. Transitioning was one of the most difficult parts of the whole experience due to me not being able to really grasp what I had gotten myself into. My teachers were very firm in conducting their teaching strategies. I can recall a moment in time where I had turned in one of my first papers for my English class I was so excited for her to read it because I had worked all night on it trying to perfect it. A couple days passed and I got the paper back it was so many read marks on it if I didn't know any better I would…

My first semester of high school math, failed. All I wanted to do was sit down and admit defeat, nothing I could do could save me from continuing to tumble down from this spot. Later that week I got called down to the guidance councilor, we discussed my problems and ways to possibly fix the mess I was in. I came out of that office with a new hope. That night I talked to my parents about getting a tutor to help me in my grades. Both of them happily agreed and I started getting tutored. With the help of my tutor I managed to pass the second semester of Algebra…

JK Rowling's once said “It's impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default.” As seniors we have spent our last 4 years having our ups and downs while trying to achieve many goals. Today we're graduating high school to me that hasn't sunk in just yet. Within the walls of our schools we've overcome struggles from trying to write essays to passing a test or trying to hear your teacher when there's construction going on around you. Some of those struggles might have been failures, but you can't learn without failing it's a natural occurrence in life.…

Throughout my time is College Composition I, I learned and developed numerous skills that I will carry with me to college and beyond. While writing the five assigned essays, I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses. I believe a strength of mine was my ability to add in personal stories into my essays. For example, in my definition essay, I included my fear of disappointment and how I work to overcome this particular fear. On the other hand, one weakness that I struggled with was style. While writing my essays, I would sometimes use wordy and unclear sentences structures. Often times I would focus solely on improving my diction while writing my papers.…

I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…

I learned that writing a paper is not only difficult for me but also to my peers. They struggled a lot with getting their thoughts down on paper just like I did. I learned that writing essays is not easy for anyone, especially when writing under pressure. I learned that sometimes leaving your writing for last minute can be a bad thing because they begin to write nonsense in order to get there work done. My peers writing assignments showed me what are the correct things to add to my paper, and what not to add to my paper.…

This class has taught me many things about myself along with many necessary skills needed while writing. I know now that, through hard work and determination, I can achieve what I might think to be impossible. While reflecting back on my initial writing abilities, I see the weak, uneducated style of writing. Each essay shows my progression and improvement, and, after a while, the class began to become much easier. Today, after practicing throughout my essays this semester, I believe that I, in fact, have…

Failure, when pertaining to human achievement is the act of not reaching success. Failure, though, in its own right is just an idea because as Winston Churchill once said, “ Success is not final, failure is not final; it is the courage to continue that counts.” This is a lesson I learned at the end of my freshman year of high school. Freshman year wasn’t my best year academically, athletically, or socially. I wasn’t specifically failing in any of those areas, but I released at the end of year how strikingly mundane I had been when I thought I should have been exceling. I beat myself up, considering anything less than my expectations a failure. I wanted to give up and not care. The weird thing is though, is that this mishap I had didn’t detour…

Many students claim that middle school is exceedingly straightforward and easy, whereas others claim that middle school is complex and difficult. For those who succeed in school and claim school is easy say that because they work diligently. It’s not because they are naturally talented. The students who say middle school is difficult and flounder in their studies say school is difficult because they don’t work assiduously and they don’t have perseverance. In fact, there are several kids at school who are talented fail their classes. This is because they don’t have grit and they are also often too lazy to do their work. In my own case, I am considered as one of the naturally talented people. Many of my peers think that I receive good grades because I am talented. However, I know this is not the case. In reality, I have been recieving good grades because I have been working diligently.
