motivation letter
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have taken the initiative to present you my candidature for the Master course of
Information Studies: Business Information Systems. My decision to pursue my studies has been prompted by the need to extend my knowledge beyond the level of my previous MSc and thus to acquire the necessary academic background for fulfilling my personal and professional goals. Encouraged by the firm belief in my ability, I am applying to the University of Amsterdam in particular because during my last MSc there I was exposed to high educational standards.
As a Bachelor student I was offered educational courses in academic Greek, all reinforcing my interest in management. I have been taught subjects like Market
Research, Promotion Strategies, Consumer Behavior and other related mostly to
Marketing. I have also applied myself to optional tasks, projects and assignments
(doing research, written papers about management and marketing, class presentations, training programs)
As a Master student my interest lied in the study of educational leadership, management and policy at different levels of education systems and my aim was to develop my ability to analyze the major concepts, processes, tasks and issues associated with the management of educational institutions and the formulation and evaluation of education policy. Even though I gained extremely valuable knowledge at University of Amsterdam, as a job seeker I figured out that I need to gain extra knowledge in the field of Business related to Information Systems and that is the main reason I picked this particular master program which I am absolutely sure will help me become the perfect candidate in my future career search.
My extracurricular activities include sports, music, theatre, cinema and reading literature. In my travels throughout Europe and after having spent almost 2 years in
Amsterdam I became acquainted with persons of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and I was given the chance to realize that

Have you thought about how your family, your home, music and even television have influenced you on the way you behave or even dress? While I was in middle school it was mandatory for all students to wear uniform and I loved it, i felt welcome into the school and since every one had to wear the same thing no one was bullied and i became a straight A student sice i would only focuse in school. Then high school came along and I hated being there, since i couldnt affford all the nice clothes or shoes people had, i was bullied and the only thing that keep me motivated into going to school was that both my parents didnt finish high school and had to drop out to take care of their family. When i was bullied i would just think to myself and say i know that at the end of the day i will have the better laugh, and thats what happened. Many studies over the past thirty plus years have tried to determine how extrinsic rewards affect intrinsic motivation. These studies have taken place in settings such as; in the classroom or in a work setting to gauge how the environment affects the outcomes (Porter & Lawler, 1968) (Deci, Koestner, & Ryan, 1999).
