multiculturalism
At present, these is an increasing social concern on the development of multiculturalism. It is thought by some people that multiculturalism devalue the value of culture. From my point of view, I don not agree this because of the following the reasons.
Obviously, multiculturalism brings numerous advantages to the societies. First of all, it accelerate the development of civilization. Since the multiculturalism can attract many immigrations, it certainly can help people to know the languages and histories easily from each other, which can expand people's outlook and board their knowledge. What is more, a multicultural society can boost the domestic economy. On one hand, in terms of tourism, people are more likely to visit such a divers place instead of a traditional country with nothing special, which can bring millions USA dollars to the local country annually. As a result of it , the tourism can be developed and even creating employment opportunities for the local residents. On the other hand, it can facilitate the international trade. As those people who in a multicultural society are come from different background, they tend to do business with the business man who from their home countries due to the fact that they are more familiar with the features and business rules of their own countries. Furthermore, the benefits bought from other area such as science and education arise from multiculturalism can not be ignored. It is true that a multicultural society offers more opportunities for people includes scientists and educators ,and they tend to immigrate. It is simply because of the fact that they can living in a higher standard compared with other countries which are sole culture. Thus, it should indeed to support the development of multiculturalism.

However, it does not mean that multiculturalism do not bring any negative effects to the societies. For instance, some new and unique cultures and behaviors which use the multiculturalism as an excuse can damage the original culture deeply. specifically, the widespread use of drug and abortion, which is considered as a new fashion and trend by many young adults. Those things can be the negative output of the multiculturalism.
Based on those considerations, multiculturalism brings huge positive effects to the societies, and I am full convinced that some regulations should be taken. on the national level, the government should fulfill its responsibilities to establish a specific department to regulate such a divers society in order to prohibit those bad behaviors or fashions get into the nation. The government should pay attention to this area ,not just for the sake of economy, but for the welfare and development of the whole society as well .Only when the government devote the effort to this field, can we have a better life in a multicultural nation.

Now that multiculturalism has become a popular concept, it is time for us to add more meat to the bone and expand on what it means to Canada to be a multicultural society. While most Canadians highlight our multicultural character as a virtue, it continues to mean different things to different people.Multiculturalism is the recognition that while Canadians share equal rights and responsibilities, they come with diverse cultural backgrounds where each is entitled to practice their faith freely and take pride in their heritage .Multicultural critics think of multiculturalism as an enabler to ghettoize our communities where Canadians are discouraged from integrating with "mainstream" society. Other critics even see it as a threat to "Canadian Identity. "Such discussions are necessary within any confident society. The more exposed a population is to foreign ideas and people, the more that population becomes desensitized to any stereotypes or prejudices. If we look at African Americans in present day America, their condition is the best that it has ever been in this country’s history mainly because newer generations of Americans are more racially tolerant than generations past. With each new generation will come even more racial and cultural tolerance because exposure with these generations to cultural diversity will be higher as the future unfolds. In conclusion, cultural diversity helps to familiarize and involve a society with the broader world, creating cohesion and understanding amongst…

What does Diversity and Multiculturalism mean to me? I believe that diversity has become so much more than just the basic qualities of race or gender. It now includes all qualities that make everyone unique, as individuals or as part of a larger group. It is also the acceptance, respect, and understanding of these unique qualities that makes diversity work in a given society. Multiculturalism is the system that is centered around the respect for and the promotion of ethnic and or gender diversity in the society. Multiculturalism is the status of several different ethnic, racial, religious or cultural groups co-existing in the same society. Today, in the U.S. we already live in a diverse, multicultural world, where popular culture has introduced us to others’ foods, music, histories, customs, and more. Moreover, the predictions that a multiplicity of infusions from culture to culture will continue unabated – and that we must develop a respect for others if we are to be active, engaged participants in the new world order (Green, 1998).…

In many references, it is proposed that the big theme of multiculturalism is the gap on things related to race, religion and ethnicity. The impact is the rise of conflicts among society which lead to radicalism, disputes, even violence. In a different perspective, multiculturalism can be defined as more than race, religion, and ethnicity, but also things related to human needs. Adopting the theme developed by Bennet (2003) on multiculturalism learning, community needs aspect becomes a part that needs to be regarded in designing multiculturalism learning. The efforts to prevent multicultural related problems in the community will be comprehensive if the causing effects can be well defined. This was not only limited to a problem related to race,…

The focus on multiculturalism started in the 1960s as minority issues became more prevalent in society, especially in the Anglo dominated countries such as North America. Multicultural was primarily defined in association to race or ethnicity. The focus has broadened to include age, gender, religion, sexual preferences, and social class. Much of the focus on multicultural issues was directed toward issues in society regarding equality; many were caused and generated by political biases, programs, and policies. Nagayama Hall (2010) stated, “Multicultural psychology is the study of the influences of multiple cultures in a single social context on human behavior” (p. 8).…
