Drill team has also taught me about community service.
Throughout the summer the drill team visited the homeless shelter, welcomed home the troops, and went to Children’s Hospital to perform for all of the sick kids. I have donated canned items, toys, and clothes to the homeless shelters. Community service has very much humbled me and taught me many things about life. It has made me appreciate the small things in life such as a bed, a washing machine, food, and heat/air. Just imagine your life without those things. These people at the homeless shelter had no home, only the food the homeless shelter provided them with, and only the clothes on their back. They carried everything they owned with a backpack. Community service taught me to think about what life would be like without the things I need, and also made me a better person. I donate when I can and I believe I should share the blessings that I have been given to the less
fortunate. Although I am not an official leader at school, I do believe I show great leadership qualities. In life you must not be a follower a leader. You must stand up for what you believe in and you values. When I participate in group activities where they chose me to be a leader I try to make good decisions but I also include the other people’s ideas. I believe leadership is a great thing to have in your life. The title of being in National Honor Society is something I hold in high respect. I would love to say that I was in National Honor Society. I think that people in NHS are very respected in Crandall High school and are looked up too. I hope to prove myself to you and can set a good example to all the young kids coming into high school looking for the opportunity to be in National Honor Society.
