My Leadership Philosophy
In my day to day life I try and pride myself on who I am and who I am becoming. Just a few days ago I was telling myself that I need to actually stop volunteering so much because it means I have little time to do anything else. There have been many cases in which I demonstrated a personal drive, commitment to my community, and my own leadership philosophy. Talking to my dad about a month ago I was having a conversation with him for school where I asked him what my best qualities were and one that he told me is my work ethic. This made me think about it because it was not something that I would originally think for myself. I came to the conclusion that he could be right however, I give myself high expectations and strive for as close to …show more content…
My personal drive is what pushes me to be the best I can be and strive for greatness it is also what drives me to keep trying to accomplish bigger and bigger things both for myself and for others. My commitment to community started around 3rd grade when I was on the green team in elementary school where we would walk behind the school to the arboretum and just help clean it and make it look nice and pretty. My commitment to my community has grown over the years with my increased involvement in girl scouts when in 7th grade specifically I was awarded my silver award for leading an encampment and a boy scout and girl scout food bank completely organised by my small troop of 5 people. Every year since 6th grade I have gone to girl scout camp in a leadership position to the organization that shaped me into who I have become today. Community service …show more content…
Leadership has played a monumental role in my life as I am not only in the leadership class but I try to be a leader outside of the school system. My goal is always to make people comfortable and make them feel the best they can and be the best person that they can be, whether it is supporting people when they are upset or pushing them to get something done or trying to nudge their personal bubble and get them slightly out of there comfort zone. For me leadership is about helping people and about serving others before you serve

Throughout my entire life, I have found that hard work and dedication can help me achieve any goal that I set. I have overcome the separation and lack of decent parents, incarceration of my oldest brother, and many other events with the morals and skills that were taught to me by my grandparents (who are my legal guardians). Due to their influence and love, I have always put my best foot forward and looked at the world with optimism. Since the second grade, I have been in gifted/honor courses, exceeded through my classes, and have made many friends. My backbone does not consist of selfish desires or influences; it consists of my morals and the family and friends that I do have pushing me to change the world.…

In my community, I have displayed a great amount of service. In school, I am a peer helper during my P.E. hour to help the kids with disabilities perform P.E. like any other high school student would. I also went to a prom for kids with disabilities at my church as a date/escort for one of the kids. Over the summer I worked as a respite worker for a week to help a young girl with Down syndrome at a church camp. Also, one of my favorite times of the year is when I get the opportunity to volunteer at the softball Special Olympics. Because a lot of these kids and adults do not have the ability to perform these tasks on their own, I become a dependent companion for them to lean on. I show my leadership by doing what is right if someone were to make fun of them, and treating them like I would treat a friend. This all wraps into the patriotism for our country. I do not do these actions to just call myself patriotic; I do it because I enjoy to and believe that it is my duty as a good…

Leadership is not only in a school setting but other professions requiring one or two people to direct others in a beneficial path. Pursuing a degree in administration forced me to reflect on the characteristics I see best fit when leading staff in the correct direction. Leaders are not born overnight, but take time to grow and perfect. Leaders not only are driven to benefit themselves, but also have a force behind them for the benefit of the entire school.…

First off, I love to work together with others and collaborate in order to succeed in something. Whether it is a group project or discussing as a group about a certain topic, I love talking with others to work things out together versus one person doing all of the work and figuring it out by themselves. I also love to hear others opinions and ideas to see how others think compared to myself. Second, I love to help and support others. As a cheer team, we all volunteered as a group to go sing Christmas carols and make cards for all of the loved ones at the nursing home. As an individual, doing community service makes me feel like a good citizen and to know that I accomplished this goal makes me feel even…

Taking ENES 317 has exposed me to lot of knowledge such as one leadership/Management skills, personality types, approaches to problems and decision making. In the past, I believed that leadership was a quality that could be learned and taught, but I also thought that leadership would best fit people with some personal trait such as charisma or personality of an extrovert people. With the knowledge gained from this leadership course, I came up with an individual Bill Gates who is successful in leading but an introvert, and he has successfully managed to influence others, who virtually revitalize our personal computers/phones and way of shopping. However, some of the things I knew about leadership before taking ENES317 was that a good leader should be open to new ideas, forgiving to his/her followers, and demonstrate humility. I still believe that without these qualities a leader can only become arrogant in their leadership that their behavior may isolate them from their followers. My focuses on this paper will be to analyze the self-assessments test taken in class and the leadership theories presented in class.…

I take pride in organizing, instructing, and guiding individuals toward a collective goal. Being a leader is a nature of my personality; however, capitalizing on being a leader has allowed me to grow as a human being and accomplish things I would have not otherwise been able to do. My leadership positions have included a range of differences. At Knoch High School, I was the Class of 2014 Class President and Spanish Club Vice President; in addition, I was an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Future Business Leaders of America.…

Leadership can be found close to anywhere you go including at school, at home, at work, or throughout your community. I feel that an effective leader has many different and unique qualities. These qualities include being a good listener, motivating, and being able to analyze and solve problems. Leaders should step forward and take action in any situation but also be able to make it seem fun, to make things interesting while getting the stuff we need done. To be a good leader means to not only give others motivation but to have self motivation also.…

Part of leadership is the ability to make a difference under difficult circumstances. But, what is a leader? A leader is a person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. I portray the qualities that a leader has: persistance, determination, confidence, and passion. This past summer my gymnastics career went to the next level; I was offered a job at the gymnasium.…

In a community, being a leader is often difficult due to all the components and struggles that go into being one. A leader is an individual who can take charge in various situations, and do it effectively in a way which makes others follow them. Leaders are very important in all situations to provide direction and stability, and it takes much effort to be able to lead groups of people well. I believe I can take this on and be a leader, based off of my actions in groups, the services I have done, and the attitude/characteristics I have.…

Leadership has been present in my life in many different ways, through sports, academics and even through friendships. When I was younger I didn’t know what it meant to be a leader, I always though the “leader” was just the most popular or most liked person within a group, whether it be a sports team or group or friends. As I grew older, I realized that was not the case, leadership comes in many different forms and has many different aspects. I have been a cheerleader since I was about 5 years old, I have competed at different cheer gyms and on different teams but have never let go of the sport. When I was young I would always look up to the older girls, I never thought that one day I would actually be one of them.…
