My Leadership Philosophy
Growing up being the youngest of five children I had many people to look up to. I had a lot great leaders in my life that I aspired to be just like. Starting from a young age I got involved in sports like many other children. In those sports is where I started to learn how to become a leader. I have always been a loud and positive person, and in sports this had really helped me when I was in leadership roles. I was not afraid to go crazy to cheer on my team from the bench, field, or court. I like to have a presence in whatever activity I am involved in. I am not the one to sit back and let others do the work. In high school, I really started to flourish into the leader I am today. I continued to do sports, but I also got involved in other things …show more content…
There are quiet leaders that are the ones that show their leadership more in their actions rather than words. There are leaders who stick to more of the academic activities and leaders that are more involved with the after school activities. All types of leaders are important as long as they use their leadership in a good and beneficial way. I have learned that I can be a different kind of leader in different situations. For example, when I played sports, I was a loud leader that loved to motivates my teammates and get them excited, and when I was a leader at a retreat, I didn’t enjoy to give speeches in front of many people, but I liked to stand back and talk one on one with the participants. I have also learned that you can’t just be a leader when you want to be. If you choose to be in a leadership position, you have to be a good example to others during the activity and outside of it. Everything I learned about leadership in high school had helped me choose the decision of becoming a youth ambassador of the United States through my local Rotary club. This year I have been living in Argentina, and it has really challenged my leadership

This is one of the reasons I want to be part of ALPFA’s leadership program. I want to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make a different in my career and my life. Leadership is not only in a school setting but other professions requiring one or two people to direct others in a beneficial path. Pursuing a degree in administration forced me to reflect on the characteristics I see best fit when leading staff in the correct direction. Leaders are not born overnight, but take time to grow and perfect. Leaders not only are driven to benefit themselves, but also have a force behind them for the benefit of the entire school.…

As a leader you must guide those who look up to you and must convey to them the correct way of doing so. I live daily as a leader inside and outside of school. In school I am a leader on all my teams, classrooms, and most importantly, JROTC. When I am in athletics or with my team I always make sure to set a good example for them and being sure to go all in, the cougar way. I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…

I take pride in organizing, instructing, and guiding individuals toward a collective goal. Being a leader is a nature of my personality; however, capitalizing on being a leader has allowed me to grow as a human being and accomplish things I would have not otherwise been able to do. My leadership positions have included a range of differences. At Knoch High School, I was the Class of 2014 Class President and Spanish Club Vice President; in addition, I was an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Future Business Leaders of America.…

Leadership can be found close to anywhere you go including at school, at home, at work, or throughout your community. I feel that an effective leader has many different and unique qualities. These qualities include being a good listener, motivating, and being able to analyze and solve problems. Leaders should step forward and take action in any situation but also be able to make it seem fun, to make things interesting while getting the stuff we need done. Part of leadership is the ability to make a difference under difficult circumstances. But, what is a leader? A leader is a person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. I portray the qualities that a leader has: persistance, determination, confidence, and passion. This past summer my gymnastics career went to the next level; I was offered a job at the gymnasium.…

In a community, being a leader is often difficult due to all the components and struggles that go into being one. A leader is an individual who can take charge in various situations, and do it effectively in a way which makes others follow them. Leaders are very important in all situations to provide direction and stability, and it takes much effort to be able to lead groups of people well. I believe I can take this on and be a leader, based off of my actions in groups, the services I have done, and the attitude/characteristics I have.…

Leadership has been present in my life in many different ways, through sports, academics and even through friendships. When I was younger I didn’t know what it meant to be a leader, I always though the “leader” was just the most popular or most liked person within a group, whether it be a sports team or group or friends. As I grew older, I realized that was not the case, leadership comes in many different forms and has many different aspects. I have been a cheerleader since I was about 5 years old, I have competed at different cheer gyms and on different teams but have never let go of the sport. When I was young I would always look up to the older girls, I never thought that one day I would actually be one of them.…

Leadership has always been important to me. From a young age, my parents, my teachers and my community promoted the idea of leadership as a crucial aspect to the betterment of not only myself as a person, but the people around me as well. By being a leader myself, as well as being influenced by the actions of others, I have truly learned the significant impact that a seemingly small action can have on a person, a community, and even the world. Though leadership and being a leader itself is difficult to define, I have come to realize that leadership exists within everyone, it is simply up to each person to use their gifts to positively impact others. Even though many people view a leader as someone who is firm, authoritative and bold, these…

As well as setting good attitudes and always bringing positive energy to the event, place, and situation. Being a leader isn’t always easy however, all you can do is try your best.
