My Personal Quest
Looking out into the crowd, I saw my family’s proud smiling faces and tears running down their cheeks. This was the moment I never thought would come in the past 4 years. As the announcer said my name, I walked up and accepted my diploma. I wanted to scream I was so excited. Instead I just gave a big smile and thanked everyone for their love and support, giving credit to those who had helped me along my journey to graduation. This was by far the most meaningful moment so far in my life because of all of the struggles I have endured and the journey I had taken to achieve my success. I will never forget that moment and my personal quest to graduate high school. And now I have started a new chapter in my life, College.
All my life I wanted to go into music, and be a professional singer. Be a role model to people with my music and songs the way many artists have been to me. But now that I have grown up some I want to graduate Page 2 from college with a music degree and a therapy degree. Because there is a job called musical therapy. It’s perfect because I love caring for people and kids. And have compassion for those with disabilities. And I also have a love and passion for music. So it’s the best of both worlds.
Overcoming adversity to get to where I am has been one of the most rewarding things. It has opened my eyes, humbled me, and made me more caring and compassionate. I’ve dealt with seizures my entire life. And sometimes it can be challenge, especially with school. But when I walked across that staged and graduated high school. I knew anything was possible. And I can encourage other people through that as well. I now am not letting my seizures hold me back. I am letting myself actually have fun and make friends. For all who have disabilities and all who have struggled with financial issues I want to be there for them and encourage them. One of the reasons I want to go into Musical Therapy. Music saved me when the sky was turning gray and it seemed hopeless.
In conclusion of my not well written paper. I want to make a difference in the world. Even if its one person at a time. Caring for them, encouraging them. Like so many people have done for me. So I am hoping to graduate from Davidson County Community College with a music degree and therapy degree. My back up plan is transferring to University of North Carolina Wilmington.

These migraines would occur about once a month, armed with enough pain to keep me in bed for up to 2 days, they were a huge interference…

I have persevered through obstacles that I had encountered in my high school years. Junior year, first semester, I had high grades and perfect attendance to maintain my honor schedule. Once second-semester arrived, everything went downhill. I had two family passings that were out of the state. The first death was from my father’s side of the family in North Carolina. I spent a whole week out of school, which made me fall behind in every one of my classes. As soon as I arrived back home, a week later, there was another passing, however it was from my mother’s side of the family in Mexico. There went another week out of school again. Both sides of my family were in complete sorrow and grief which really affected my personal and academic life.…

I want to be happy, to help others, and to make a positive impact on others. I would love to be a motivational speaker because it's easier to change a person’s life with your personal stories and words, rather than forcing them to do things. I want to tell troubled teenagers and kids that it's never too late; you can be something in life despite what you've been through or what others may think, say, and feel about you. That's my biggest goal in life, to give others the same opportunity I was given. To show that second chances are real. I would also love to be an Athletic Trainer or Firefighter. Regardless of the path I take, I know that whatever I do in life, I will make a difference. I feel like with me being an Athletic Trainer I can give an athlete a second chance at the respected sport they love. I could also inspire people to do more than just play the sport they love; I could inspire them to go out and make a difference. Being a Firefighter I could save lives. I would play a key role in the community, giving back more than I…
