Crystal Bennett is the lead case manager. These two employees run the agency, but there are directors above them. Interns student learners and volunteers have a lot of responsibilities with clients. They have employee orientation and a personnel manual. When I started volunteering, the agency save me two huge folders of orientation and an interview. I felt like it was a real job interview. The agency explained that they treat their volunteers like actual workers. They are such a small agency, so training is done on an individual basis. Connections of Cumberland County serves all ages, cultures, ethnic background, religion, but they only serve women and children. There was a lot of new things that I’ve learning from Connections. It was a very resourceful place for a student interested in social work and case management. The use of case management can facilitate client growth (Woodside & McClam, 2015). Connections of Cumberland county is a place that helps motivate women and children. The empowerment that this agency has is great for those women. My favorite part of volunteering was going to The City Rescue Mission. It felt great to make sure everyone had a food and water. This is a place where people can receive help. I have learned how case management works with clients. I have also learned the additional services they provided to their clients, and the resources they use to benefit the client.
