You'll find others who share your interests and can explore more of your options on the campus. You might also gain insight into whether or not your chosen major is the best decision.…
A project of epic proportions and after 10 years of investments has now had the plug pulled on it due to ever increasing cost and loss of original direction. ‘The Department has been unable to deliver its original aim of a fully integrated care records system across the NHS. Poor progress since 2002 has meant the Department has had to reconsider what the expenditure can deliver.’ ((pg. 5) House of Commons. (2011).…
In this community there are a growing percentage of high school students who are dropping out. There are many reasons for this alarming trend in our community some being economical and others are based on the socioeconomic status of the population in general. Due to the depressed economy, many local companies are moving to other areas in an attempt to maintain competitive economic incentives for employees. When this happens, property taxes which support funding for high school programs has diminished in the last few years, resulting in the loss of qualified teachers and no funds to hire new positions. This has in turned left high school students feeling lost and hopeless with no hope of having a better quality of life. This is where the proposal for the organization I will be directing comes in.…
Our National Health Service is one of the most precious institutions we have. We all know it, because all of us have been touched by it. I will never forget the care my son Ivan received and the inspirational people who helped Sam and me through some of the most difficult times. The consultants, the community nurses, the care team – every one of them became part of our lives. When you have experienced support and dedicated professional care like that, you know just how incredibly special the NHS is.…
The National Honors Society recognizes students who have great leadership skills, strong character, and who have a great desire to serve their community. I believe that I demonstrate all of these attributes. I work very hard to do well in school, I continue to serve in leadership positions in the community and I strive to be an individual…
Forget Trip Advisor, now HOSPITALS are asking whether we'd recommend them to family and friends…

I believe that I can bring great leadership and character to the table. I care deeply about my education and I also push myself to work hard in all my AP and honor classes. I strive to see improvement in my grades and work. I truly enjoy learning and hope to grow more knowledgeable as I grow older. I believe that you should not only work for yourself but you should also help ones in need. Participating in numerous amounts of clubs allows me to help others. I also strive to lead and teach others so we can all accomplish a common goal and learn along the way. Becoming a Member of NHS would grant me the chance to contribute all the qualities above and help others. Along with dedication and leadership I show responsibility, respectfulness, motivation,…
After being a part of Key Club throughout my high school years, I learned how to give back to the community that has raised me and the conspicuous impact I can have in someone’s life simply through volunteering. Through Key Club, I help create service projects with local organizations and give members of our club an opportunity to volunteer and give back. One experience I will never forget is helping set up a blood drive in school with one of our local organizations, Bloodworks Northwest, a local blood bank that helps saves lives through research, innovation and education in blood. Our Key Club had to inform the school of the event that was happening, and encourage students to donate blood. It required hours of creating posters, informing the…
Smaller student body equals more involvement. The engagement in classrooms can become very exciting. All types of academic programs can be found at Saint Anthony's such as, Geometry Honors, Biology Honors, English Honors, AP History, AP Chemistry, AP Literature, etc. Each program provides a challenge for every individual taking that course. This year, Saint Anthony’s has tied hands with project L.E.A.P. Project LEAP is a program that authorizes high school juniors and seniors to enroll in up to 18 college-level credits per school year as well as earn credits towards a degree. How great is that? You can see how Saint Anthony's wants to challenge their students as well as guide us with college academics in our high school years. The National Honor Society is also well represented by Saint Anthony High School. For those who may not be familiar, The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize marvelous high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to acknowledge those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Each year at Saint Anthony High School, more than half of the student body is a part of the NHS. Freshman and sophomores are identified as provisional members of the NHS, while the junior and seniors are represented as members of the…
I am very honored of being eligible to become a member of the National Honors Society, becoming a member of the NHS has been one of my major goals throughout my highschool career. It would be a great privilege to represent the NHS as a student with scholarship, leadership, service and character. I believe that as a student I represent these Four Pillars. For instance scholarship represents the hard work that as a student you put into your academics, but to me academics is something that I care much about and take very seriously. I always put effort towards my work by always being responsible and challenging myself to improve in what I have difficulty with. Academics isn’t just simply earning good grades but it is a way that I can improve…
2 and guide them toward opportunities that will allow them to thrive, and to make their own difference. I assist students and teachers to make their lives easier. We have done almost all of the events in Southampton, from September Fest, Maureen's Havens to Family Fun Day and Raking elderly people's lawn. Through this organization I learned what it means to be a leader and essentially a teacher.…
The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. Every…
I created the Humanitarian Club to promote global issues in my school and also to promote Special Education inclusion. After drafting a proposal, I went through my school's principal and got approval to submit it to the school board. My club got approved by the school board and ever since then, we've made a huge impact on the community. Last year we made 118 Operation Christmas boxes that were sent around the world. Some other projects include promoting inclusion with our Special Ed children by participating in Special Olympics sporting events, philanthropy work for community improvements such as a much needed guardrail to prevent more deaths, and animal welfare events to promote spaying and neutering. The club has benefited the Special Education…
The school itself, on its own, stands to have a good heart. From fundraiser to fundraiser, this school raises thousands of dollars every year for some kind of foundation. Most recently, the school raised money from “Daffodil Days.” All the money that came from this event went to cancer research; this showed others people care about their kin that are affected. The school continues to show how compassionate it is with the discussions and…
