I rushed to the shower, quickly washed and then got dressed up.
I was putting on my shoes on, when my mom poked her head out of the kitchen door and asked,
“Where are you going?”
“To the new night club with Mandy.”
“Oh no,” mum groaned, “ i was hoping you would help me, as your dad is ill. I have so much to do.”
I pondered for a moment. I thought about the new nightclub that probably had a new disco with free drinks. All my friends would be there. The other choice was to stay in my leaky creaky house and burn holes in my clothes with our defective iron. I obviously chose the first choice, because it would be my first ever time in a nightclub as I had just turned eighteen.

It was five minutes to nine and the journey would take at least ten. I didn’t want to be late. The speed limit was 40 miles an hour. If I sped up to 50 maybe I would get there on time.In my mind, I could see Mandy waiting outside by the door.
