Observation Of Mrs. Richardson Pre-Kindergarten
My observation was of Mrs. Richardson Pre-Kindergarten (4 year-olds) about 20 minutes of class time. Observation began at 9:00 AM and ended at approximately 9:20 AM. I watched Mrs. Richardson as she greeted every last one of the students that had arrived at that time with a great big hug and high five the students were very excited to see, Mrs. Richardson they were all smiling as they sat down in their seats. There were two school aides and eleven children that arrived in the room at that time. After, Mrs. Richardson gave her morning announcements and collected the homework from the previous day she gathered all the children to the rug because it was “Storytime”. Mrs. Richardson decided to read her Pre-Kindergarten classroom a book called “The Doorbell Rang” by Pat …show more content…
She has large green eyes and has a light complexion. She acts very independent and aggressive with the other students. She was speaking very loud at the time of the observation. Brianna is sitting at carpet by herself she doesn’t want to sit next to anyone but Mrs. Richardson , she sat next to Mrs. Richardson and wouldn’t move, she said that “Mrs. Richardson is always kind to her more than her parents.” Brianna continued to sit next to Mrs. Richardson as she read the story to the classroom but even though Brianna, said next to Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Richardson maintained her relationships with the other students in the group by reassuring them that she loved and cared for them all dearly and it doesn’t matter who sits next to year as long as they listen. While observing Mrs. Richardson’s class as they sat there as she read the book to them, I noticed a little boy named Keith, Keith weighs about 40 pounds and is about 40 inches tall. Keith has 6 other brothers and sisters. He has red hair, freckles on his face. Keith was sitting on the other side of Mrs. Richardson, he was just smiling and so happy to be sitting next to her, and he couldn’t stop starring at

And hadn't been paying much attention to what the teacher was saying, because everything zoned out, besides appearances and movements. Mr. Hube was wearing a bright purple sweater with tan khakis, and was extra fidgety. Something got him all hot and bothered, and it was obvious. His pale blue eyes glanced the room, and the pauses, he worried his lower lip, driving Charlotte crazy, that his outfit choice was bold for a teacher and that he appeared nervous to speak in front of his own class.…

I observed Mrs. Collier’s first grade class at J.B. Hunt elementary on Thursday September 13, 2015. The classroom had a great climate and was decorated nicely. She had bright posters hanging on the wall as well as many colorful boxes, curtains, and chairs around the room. The desks were set up in one giant “U” with Mrs. Collier sitting in the middle. It was a great set up for the kids because they could easily see her and she could easily see them. The dynamics in the classroom seemed great because she connected well with each student and was interested in what they had to say. The students behavior seemed very respectful towards her and they listened when she asked them to do something. Mrs. Collier’s equity between her and her students was…

The male child W was observed four times, over the course of two weeks, totaling four hours. He was placed in a classroom designated for 2-year-olds along with about 12 other children, staffed by two full-time teachers, and a part-time teacher. The classroom was a very loud, and over decorated environment. Not only were the walls completely covered with posters and pictures, but there were art projects hanging from the ceiling as well. The classroom was divided into specific areas for play, eating, and story time; however, there was not enough room for the children to freely run around. The children spent time outside on the playground in the backyard that had picnic tables, toy houses, trucks, cars, swings, and many other toys. The 2-year-olds shared their outdoor time with infants that were pushed around in a large stroller. When the children were brought outside there were a total of 4 teachers outside supervising them.…

She gave the little boy a big hug and listened to him as he spoke to her. Mrs. Sweaney noticed that the little boy’s arms were dirty, so she took him over to the sink and helped him wash off his arms and his hands so that he felt and looked cleaner. Seeing her interact with a student this way showed me how kind, patient, and caring she was towards children. When her students arrived to class, she was very energetic, happy to see them, and look forward to their day’s work. Mrs. Sweaney has a different attitude with her students in the sense that she is friendly, sweet, warm and welcoming, and always happy to see them, but she is also firm with them and wants them to learn about the choices they make and the consequences they have.…

When she was in the class, she did one on one work with the children and was given the opportunity to play games and do pieces of art with different students. On various days, she was able to take one of the children to hall or the sensory room. This gave her the opportunity to work with them individually. From working with the children within and outside the class, she learned a range of things about them from what they like to do and what their triggers are. On occasion, the author saw the children trashing the rooms and throwing various objects.…

When I had first volunteered at a preparatory school as a teacher’s assistant, I was thrilled and excited. I enjoyed working with children and I admit, was slightly disillusioned with expectations that the children would be dutiful and effortless to watch over. Unfortunately, all my prior imaginations crashed the second I entered the classroom. Everywhere I saw, it was pure chaos. I dodged a flying crayon as I saw children running around throwing paper airplanes, balls, while others just stared at their iPads, focused on the latest game. Not a single one of them even listened to me or glanced at me as I tried to yell over the loud chatter.…

Once again, I was placed in Mrs.Metcalfe who teaches second grade at Bens Branch Elementary. Mrs.Metcalfe took attendance while the students waited patiently on the carpet. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

As the children arrived, they removed their belongings and placed them in the cubbies. Afterwards, they grabbed their name tags and set their lunchboxes on the lunchbox table.
