Boerema’s classroom, I said, “Hello [student’s name], and said one compliment to each student, such as: I like your shirt, I like your attitude, you’re doing a great job, etc. Students enjoy to hear positive comments, and can affect each student’s attitude in the classroom. I learned that I should always greet students and give students compliments whenever I can.
Performance Activity 9: Write a formal lesson plan of a teacher’s lesson. Refer to specific directions provided in the Documents & Assignments Appendix. Send to university supervisor through LiveText for evaluation. I learned from this performance activity that instruction doesn’t have to always follow this format: teacher directed, practice activity, and independent activity. A teacher may reserve the order of instruction and levels of scaffolded support from time to time. Boerema and Mrs. Adamson co-teach 7th grade language arts and identified a student who receive special education services may receive less support, due to scoring high on the language arts section on iReady. According to the classroom scores, this student got the third highest score in the class. Ms. Boerema will have to notify the rest of the IEP team the student’s iReady score and design a new plan to meet his needs and what services the student needs or doesn’t
