Extra-curricular activities can allow the child/young person to try out a wide range of activities that are not open to them during normal school hours or to gain additional skills and knowledge in the subjects/activities that they are particularly interested in.…
I have upheld the Chanhassen High School National Honor Society 4 pillars of character, leadership, scholarship and service. I am currently involved in key club, rotary interact, tennis, babysitting, as well as working at the Big Thrill Factory, and it is through these activities that being kind, a leader friendly, and polite, truly allows me to shine.…
Do you think that your extracurricular activities while in college were worth the time you devoted to them? Why or Why not?…
All I could think about was, “What if I mess up” as I prepared for my first meeting, I’ll be leading as Key Club president. However, all I needed to do was relax, think about my first meeting as a newly integrated sophomore, review my presentation notes, and confirm the information with the Key Club advisor. As I thought of my first few years of Key Club I remembered what it meant to be the president and a leader. Being president meant being a motivator, organizer, and a problem solver so that everyone can accomplish their individual goals. With those thoughts in mind, I began my presentation.…
In The National Honors Society and Student Council my role was to fundraise money for certain organizations and our community and to raise awareness for those certain causes, while in volleyball and cheer I was a member in these sports and competitively tried to beat other teams while encouraging my own. I have participated in my college community by being involved in Christian Business Leaders, Impact, and church. In Christian Business Leaders I help our Outreach program by finding activities and ways our organization can help people, and then by carrying them out. In Impact and Church, I am involved and surrounded by people who hold each other accountable to live Christian lives and to reach out to others and show God’s…
Since I was a kid I’ve noticed my home town of Pomona, CA had areas that were roughed up. Whenever I passed through main streets like Holt Avenue I could see sidewalks filled with homeless people & damaged property. Seeing my city in bad shape sparked something in me & I knew I wanted help better the city & give back to it but wasn’t really sure how to contribute up until high school. Sophomore year in high school I joined Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán, MEChA, I was introduced into this club by a friend that was actively involved in it. MEChA’s main focus in the community was to help the Spanish speaking people within the community that were in need of help in school. Another club that I joined that year was Key Club International.…
I have been involved in many activities during high school. These activities include academic organizations, community service, athletic teams, and the professional workforce. I have learned a great deal and have enjoyed participating in them. I also like spending time outdoors, camping, and playing sports for fun.…
The extracurricular activity that had an influential impact on the plans for my future was the Future Farmers of America. While in this organization, I have received multiple experiences in operating in the greenhouse, commuting to a fish farm, memorizing facts about the organization. This organization started by giving me the opportunity to begin experiencing stuff outside of the normal classroom. This organization taught me to stand up for myself and it started teaching me that I can do anything I set my mind to, such as winning science fair to advance to the National Convention in Kentucky. In this organization that anything is possible if you put the effort into making it happen. I learned that the people help make the organization, but…
First, high school activities will be deliberated. Throughout high school, I have been involved in FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), FFA (Future Farmers of America), Floriculture, HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), Art Club, Homecoming Committee, and National Honors Society. Outside of high school, I have participated in 4H, Vacation Bible School, mission trips, and nursery.…
I was so focused on the academic aspects of school my freshman and sophomore years’ that i wasn’t active in any of my school’s clubs or activities. I finally decided to get more involved my junior year and I joined nearly every club, participated in every activity, and even went to as many sports events as I could have. I currently am a six year member of the National Beta Club and have held the positions of Vice President of Fundraising and Senior Representative throughout my high school career. Not only am I a leader in the Beta Club, but I participate in the Trailblazer leadership program with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance and my school’s freshman mentor program. I also joined the TRIO Upward Bound program whose ACT prep helped me to obtain a 22 as my highest ACT score at the time allowing me acceptance into my school’s ACT top 20 Club. Although it was hard with my many extracurricular activities I somehow still managed to finish my junior year with a 3.8…
It was my first year as a Key Club member and my excitement for Fall Rally North was insatiable. Every year, Key Club members from all over the San Francisco Bay Area gather at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to show off their spirit for their respective division through cheers, spirit battles, and overall friendliness. As I sat on the bus seat, anticipating what was to come, I was also worried. Will I be able to meet new people? Will I have the courage to say “hi” to others, or will I be the one who gets said “hi” to? The park came in sight and immediately my worries dissipated and instead, transfigured into feelings of adrenaline and elation.…
When I started high school I tried to be part of many clubs or extra activity. First I was inducted into beta club my 10th grade year for my GPA been a 3.5 or higher and keeping 80 or higher in each class. It had very good meaning to me because we had to volunteer hour each semester I learned how helping people without getting paid is as good learned experience you can have. When semester started I receive hour for helping my neighbor rank there yard every two weeks. Then, I receive more hours by helping the civitan at the ball party. Also, I helped my grandma and aunt with their illness because they health issue with their body. In 10th grade I became part of drama club and we did play off of high school musical. I became a part NASA and AISES in 10th grade the reason was so I learn more about my Indian culture and history but with AISES I love science so I felt it would be an experience to have.…
While doing all of these activities inside and outside of school, I have developed a magnificent character. I have developed moral, concerns, and have learned how to respect others. I learned how to lead by example and make positive differences in the world. The four pillars of national honors society have helped me become who i am today and I plan on continue serving my community in my…
All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…
In school, I strive to achieve greatness and this shows on my academic record. I have been on honor roll every semester while simultaneously doing multiple clubs and extracurricular activities. I take part in many school sponsored clubs such as Literature…
