*Throughout my childhood my yard possessed a tree, a wonderful oak tree filled with life and virtue. This tree capturing the eye with its beautiful and destructive properties. This symbol of life and nature constantly
being stripped of its leafy shelter, revealing its natural wooden beauty, then changing its colors. This tree provided me with a sense of peace and comfort, and became a spot to create my best literature. This tree, now gone, and went with it was my sense of stability and the warmth it gave me. There is now an empty space where it once stood, but with this loss comes a beautiful opportunity. I can now watch captivating sunsets from the leisure of my window while on the couch. And as I look at the pool in my backyard taking the place of the lush, green grass that used to grow there, I realized something: This cold, unappealing pool gives me a chance to make new memories. I can now teach my goddaughter, who means the absolute world to me, how to swimand enjoy the water. And although Tenessee is filled with much nicer people and magnificent scenery, Bridgeton is my hometown. I was born and raised here and I have met a myriad of great people with great dreams. And living in Bridgeton allows me to learn about different cultures in a diverse city.
*I have had to deal with tremendous changes in my life just like Rochard Rodriguez, author of "Hunger for Memory" Although our lives are very different, they are similar in some ways. He had to adapt to the "los gringos" lifestyle like I hasd to adapt to highschool life. We both keep our family life separate from school and business life. And we both had to learn new languages in school. These changes in our lives have shaped us into who we are today.
*In order to live life to the fullest people have to face the changes in life and accept them. People have to analyze these changes and see the beauty and opportunity within them. Everything happens for a reason and change makes people who they are. People do not thrive on a life without change. A life without change is pedestrian and does not allow people to reach their full potential. And even though I lost my tree, yardspace, and I do not live in Tennessee, I still have an amazing life filled with amazing people.
