Personal Statement: A Career In Pursuing Dental Hygiene
From the time I was a little girl, my fascination with teeth has driven my desire for a career in the dental field. My mom, previously a dental lab technician, kept a box of retainers and impressions that she had made while still in college. A dental hygienist must pay extreme attention to their task at hand. The slightest wrong movement may be painful to the patient. My desire for perfection and detail-oriented mind are attributes that enrich my potential and natural ability in pursuing dental hygiene. In everything I do, I always ensure that it's as perfect as I can achieve. I pay attention to the smallest imperfections in my art projects and always spend time trying to figure out just the right wording in my essays. My kind and patient demeanor also play an important role in my pursuit of a career as a dental hygienist. Since not many people are excited to go to the dentist, especially children, it’s essential to understand their fears and take the time to ensure the patient is comfortable. I strive to understand others’ feelings and always try to help in any way possible; as a golfer, patience has become part of me as well. It takes years and a considerable amount of patience to learn how to golf well, and more patience to get through a bad game. Attention to detail, kindness, and patience are all attributes I possess that will enhance my career
